This is a huge feat for developer Notch and the Minecraft-brand, and continuing proof that the Indie-darling is a license to print money, and that the game will blow away sales expectations for whatever platform it lands on.
Developer Mojang and creator Markus Persson tweeted the news, saying:
“Well then. Saw the official sales numbers for the first 24 hours of Minecraft Xbox 360, and it’s very, very good. Profitable in an hour.”
Here’s the MineCraft Xbox 360 launch trailer!
Very, very cool news. Seeing such a great Independent game success story always brings a tear to the eye.
If you don’t know what Minecraft is, you’ve been living under a rock. It’s the PC game sensation that has become a bonafide phenomenon. Thanks to it’s ability to allow the player to become a creator and use literal building blocks made of different materials (That must be created by combining different materials to create new objects) to build anything they imagine. From an in-game version of the house they grew up in to a recreation of Middle Earth from The Lord of the Rings, from the simplest structures to the most complex worlds…. Minecraft is a literal sandbox of creativity. And gamers have eaten it up as Majong continues to improve the game with free new updates and additional add-ons.
Here is a gameplay video of Minecraft Xbox 360 in action!
And create they have….
Millions upon millions of interesting worlds and environments and Minecraft versions of everything you can think have have been recreated in the game. And Minecraft continues to sell like hotcakes, even as it comes to additional platforms like Android, iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Java. Thanks to the record-setting sales of the Xbox 360 version, you are likely to see Minecraft on additional console and handheld platforms much sooner rather than later. A Nintendo 3DS eShop, DSiWare, WiiWare and PlayStation Network versions can’t be too far behind….
Here’s a video for Mojang’s “Scrolls” (trailer_.
Developed by just a single person, Minecraft is absolute proof that Indie games can be as successful as big-budget titles, as the game sold over 1 million copies before it was even finished!
Thanks in large part to the developer socializing with the community of customers and allowing people who purchased it before it was finished to download new versions and be active in the development process all the way to completion.
Notch is now a videogame star developer, and a “household name” among gamers, he even spoke at the 2012 Game Developers Conference. His company, Majong, literaly went zero to hero in a matter of months, and has now earned over $80 million dollars in income. Even still, the company has only grown from two employees (with co-founder Jakob Porser) to 12 employees!
Notch’s next game goes in a completely new direction from Minecraft, and is a Strategy RPG called “Scrolls”. He’s also working on a Space sandbox game called “0x10c”.
Here’s a 0x10c Trailer.

Hello this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG
editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Hello. My blog uses WordPress, all I do is write. lol. No coding necessary. There many other platforms besides WordPress like Blogger or Joomla. There is also WordPress.com (free, but you can’t place ads) and WordPress.org (paid, you have to provide your own hosting, but you can place ads). Hope that helps!
