While this is something that is already known since last E3, Satoru Iwata really stressed this fact in the Nintendo Direct E3 2012 video and promises that it will offer gamers all-new ways to play videogames that have never been done before.
Also never-been-done is a portable device that can offer true 100% lagfree image viewing on the portable screen from what is happening on the TV screen. With the Wii U, you can display exactly what is on the TV screen and have both images streaming at the same time with no lag, or both screens can be showing different content, or different perspectives, of the same scene!
Another new stress point is the fact that the Wii U allows players to sit anywhere they want AWAY from the TV screen. Nintendo President Iwata stressed that no longer will you be required to “sit in front” of the TV screen to play your games, as you now have a mini-TV in the palm of your hands! This is a really interesting statement when you think about it. Everyone sits directly in front of the TV to play games, what if that no longer has to be the case? :O
Much more on how all of this will tie together will be shown at E3 2012 and Nintendo’s official E3 2012 Press Conference tomorrow!
Skip to 7:30 into the Nintendo Direct E3 2012 Pre-E3 Conference video to see Satoru Iwata discussing the Wii U GamePad controller and it’s Asymmetric Diversity Gameplay!
