Mass Effect Trilogy Box Set

All three Mass Effects games in a spiffy set for the price of one!

Mass Effect Trilogy will be released on November 6 2012 (contains Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3) for Xbox 360 and PC for $60 (the price of one game!). The PS3 version will be released on December 4 2012, a month later than the other versions. This will mark the first time that the original Mass Effect 1 will be available for PS3! Mass Effect 1 will also get a digital standalone PlayStation Network release following it’s release as part of Mass Effect Trilogy.

The set will contain over 75 hours of content across all three games available all together in one convenient package for the first time ever! It comes in a deluxe premium foilbox package and contains 5 discs (for Xbox 360 and PC, I imagine the PS3 version is on one or two Blurays) and elusive artwork.

Sadly, this package does not contain what everyone wants… All the DLC! Instead, each version contains a select amount of downloadable content and each version differs from another. Meaning that you will still need to pay upwards of $80 to get all of the DLC available online… don’t be surprised if you see another set released next Christmas that finally contains all the DLC on-disc.

Here is how the DLC breaks down per version:
Mass Effect Trilogy PC Version has the best selection of downloadable content (but even then, it’s not very much in the grand scheme of things). Mass Effect 1 includes “Bring Down the Sky” and “Pinnacle Station” add-ons on-disc. Mass Effect 2 includes its day-one DLC “Cerberus Network” (included with all new copies of the game) and Cerberus unlocks the bonus squadmate Zaeed, plus extra missions and weapons. Mass Effect 3 includes the online pass (also included with new copies).

Mass Effect Trilogy Xbox 360 includes zero Mass Effect 1 DLC. However it includes Cerberus Network for Mass Effect 2 and the Online Pass for Mass Effect 3.

Mass Effect Trilogy PS3 will have it’s DLC decided “soon”.

“Earning more than 300 industry awards, Mass Effect is one of gaming’s most acclaimed franchises is available for the first time in a premium foiled box set. Experience all three Mass Effect games for $59.99.
