Quote of the Day – You Can Chain Me, Torture Me, Destroy This Body, But You’ll Never Imprison My Mind By Mahatma Gandhi

Chain or Tortue, You'll Never Imprison My Mind Gandhi Poster“You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind.” – Gandhi

This is a powerful quote because it reveals the strength of the human spirit even during the most intense times of despair. Additionally, it reveals the fact that our thoughts and our human spirit are intangibles… no one can take them away from us but by death, and no one but God knows what is truly going on inside of someone’s mind.

Isn’t that infinitely interesting to think about?

Here is a very interesting, actual video of Gandhi actually speaking on video!

Additionally, here is an audio speech given by him; regarding God and Gandhi’s concept of God.

Encouraging Quote of the Day – What Costs Us Very Little May Mean A Lot To Someone Else… Take Time to Bless Others Even In Small Ways

Random Acts of Kindness Wallpaper

No kindness is ever wasted. In fact, it will do wonders.

“What costs us very little may mean a lot to someone else. Take time to bless others even in the small ways.”

People often don’t realize how much a little bit of love may mean a lot to someone else. That smile, that wave, that acknowledgment may be just what that person needs to get them through the day. Even if you didn’t even think about the act, you could’ve just saved a life.

Remember that God does not call us to live our lives for only ourselves. We are Commanded to encourage others, love others, and build others up. Just as we need encouragement ourselves in our walk. No one can do it alone; someone has to go out of their way to offer that compassion that will move the Spirit of another. Will you be that person today?

Encouraging Quote of the Day – Complain and Remain Stuck In Your Problems. A Thankful Attitude Brings Deliverance And A Smile To God

Stop Complaining

A stopsign that reads “Stop Complaining”.

“As long as we complain, we remain stuck in our problems. But a thankful attitude brings deliverance and makes God smile!” –Joyce Meyers

This is a strong quote because it deals with a very common problem in society today… people who whine and complain about everything under the Sun, just because THEY CAN. Remember that no one likes a whiner, and complaining is a good way to not only make your mood worsen, but do absolutely nothing to solve whatever problem or issue you are complaining about.

Complaining also takes a lot more energy than people realize. If you were to take that energy of the everyday things bothering you, and instead pump that into remaining positive and having a thankful attitude, you’d see many of your problems completely disappear. Once something no longer gets to you, you have won. Just drop it and watch how God honors you for your decision, and watch how it improves your day-to-day life.

Here’s a Joyce Meyers sermon video on “Wrong Thinking”.

LifeQuote – “Hope For the Best, Prepare For the Worst”

Be Prepared, Always.

LifeQuote: Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst. In All Things.

“Hope for the Best, Prepare For the Worst” is one of those LifeQuotes that can help improve your life and be prepared for any situation. Sadly, most people do not heed this quote, and that leads to bigger problems when things go bad. These are words to live by.

It is always better to be prepared for the worst, even when you don’t expect it to happen, than to not be prepared at all. Case-in-point, the vast majority of people do not even have a first-aid kit in their car. They never prepare for when something bad may happen. Everyone’s car should be stocked with drinkable water, food, and items that would be needed if an emergency ever arised. And yet hardly anyone does this. People also don’t learn CPR and other procedures that might come during a medical emergency, stuff EVERYONE should know and be prepared for. Among other things like an exit strategy in case of a fire.

This is a quote that more people should keep in mind as they go about their business. Always PREPARE for the worst, while hoping for the best. It is foolish not to, and sometimes if something goes bad, there is no going back. Wouldn’t you rather have been prepared to face it, than make things that much worse by not being prepared at all?

I know I would, and that is why I live by this quote.

Encouraging Quote of the Day – God Rewards People That Diligently Seek Him. Do So And You’ll Be Blessed (Joel Olsteen)

Godchasing

Chasing God by studying the example of David, a Man After God’s Own Heart.

“God rewards people that diligently seek Him. Make it a goal to seek Him, honor Him, and please Him, and He will bless you.” – Joel Olsteen

The Bible talks about a man named David, a man whom God said was after His own heart. And yet David was as flawed an individual as they came, and made many mistakes and committed many sins. And yet God’s view of David still stood.

David the Kid Made King

David accomplished great feats and was immeasurably blessed because of his devotion to God.

Why was that? It was because David diligently sought God and admitted to His mistakes while asking for God’s favor and forgiveness. It was not what Daniel did or said that God cared about, it was how he did it and what he said afterward. Daniel was frank and honest with God and Daniel actively sought God’s forgiveness, His grace, His compassion and His ways. God honored this and it lead David to great things and God blessed him immeasurably.

We can be like David today by doing exactly what Joel Olsteen says in this quote. There is power behind his words because they are the words of Christ, and fall inline exactly with how one should go about living their life. Don’t allow God to be the last person you turn to… Turn to Him first, and everything else will fall inline.

Encouraging Quote of the Day – Our Greatest Fear In Life Should Not Be Failure, But Succeeding at Things That Don’t Matter

People who act in spite of their fear are truly brave.

The Fearless and the Truly Brave.

“Our greatest fear should not be of failure, but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.” – Francis Chan

This amazing quote challenges us to reconsider where we are in life and where we think our accomplishments lie. Too many of us in life are doing exactly what this quote tells us not to, myself included. Ultimately a lot of what makes up our day-to-day lives will be meaningless and of little to no worth in the end…

And that is something that should challenge us to live our lives to the fullest each and every day.

Photo of the Day – True Friends Leave Footprints In Your Heart

Footprints In Your Heart

Real friends leave footprints in your heart. 32nd First Lady of the US (married to President FDR, Franklin Roosevelt)

This is a wonderful, beautiful saying that really rings true. Many people, over 1,000 in fact, will pass through the average person’s life… sometimes you know them well and are close, other times you may not be… even with the latter, a real friend will move your heart. And you’ll never forget that person entirely and your heart will still yearn for them.

Really, really beautiful saying.

“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.”

Allegedly these words come from our 32nd President’s wife, First Lady “Eleanor Roosevelt”, married to FDR, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who is America’s longest-serving President. He served THREE terms and is the only President to serve for 12 years instead of a max of 8 years, from March 4, 1933 – April 12, 1945. He oversaw America’s crushing blow to the Axis during WWII. First Lady Eleanor was beloved by many. I have not actually checked out whether this quote does indeed come from her or not though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Either way, this is a absolutely stunning photograph to go along with such beautiful words.

Here’s a funny video of Eleanor Roosevelt on some weird game show called “What’s My Line”. Looks like a lot of fun! They should revive this show! This clip is from 1953 or 1954.

Uplifting Quote of the Day – ‎”God Stands Ready To Honor Your Prayers With His Presence and Power!” – Benny Hinn

Benny Hinn Service In India‎”When you are in the right location (alone with God), the right position (under the Blood), and the right condition (a prepared, pure heart) God stands ready to honor your prayers with His presence and power!” – Benny Hinn

This is a powerful Word from pastor Benny Hinn, regarding the importance of honoring God by obedience to Him. While remembering that all fall short of the Glory of God and there is not one righteous among us, no not one; we need to be mindful of the fact that God is not only looking for willing vessels to pour out His will, but He is looking for a conduit to use His power in a person who is like Daniel, a person after God’s own heart. Willing to be obedient to God’s will and willing to do what God has that person called to do. While God loves and listens to everyone, it is these people whom God will use in the most powerful of ways.

And like Benny Hinn, whatever you may think of them, you cannot deny that they have literally reached millions with the Word of God. Have you reached millions? Then don’t be quick to judge and loose of lip, instead remain in prayer for those who put everything on the line and are sending the gospel to the far corners of the earth. As many are called, but only a few are chosen, and will succeed in doing that kind of mass outreach.

Here is a powerful sermon from Benny Hinn on the power of prayer and living for Christ.

Encouraging Quote of the Day – Make Us Worthy, Oh Lord, To Serve Our Fellow Man by Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa - Do Not Wait For Leaders, Do It Alone Person to Person WallpaperCan you imagine dedicating your entire life to the service of your fellow man? Most people have a hard time giving or volunteering their time to help others on a monthly basis, much less a weekly basis. And a daily basis?

Looking at Mother Teresa and the wisdom of her words and deeds should serve as an inspiration to everyone, to remember not to forget that we, as God’s children, are called to serve our fellow man, as Jesus served us.

“Make us worthy, Lord
To serve our fellow men
Throughout the world who live and die
In poverty or hunger.
Give them, through our hands
This day their daily bread,
And by our understanding love,
Give peace and joy.” – Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa Holding Child

Living for others is the calling of all who serve Jesus Christ.

Here is a fanmade video on Mother Teresa and the impact she had on the world and the lives of many. Btw, I say this as a Protestant myself. There is no reason one cannot learn from the wisdom of someone else who differs in views from you.

Encouraging Quote of the Day – In God’s Eyes Maturity Supercedes Comfort

Pray Without Ceasing

The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing... In the good times and the bad, thank the Lord your God. :)

“God is concerned more with our ultimate maturity than He is with our present comfort.” – Joyce Meyers

Many times in life a certain situation seems unbearable. It feels like God does not care or does not want you to be happy in your life. This is the type of attitude that a lot of people have towards situations and events in their lives, particularly when they feel negative towards said event and cannot see outside of the hole.

Just remember, everything in life is ultimately teaching you a lesson, and working towards building your life experience and maturing you into the person you will become. You cannot grow and mature, if you stay stagnant and don’t face challenges, trials, tribulations and sometimes even harrowing, dangerous, sad, or tragic events.

Case in point, the late Andy Rooney of CBS’ 60 Minutes (who died in December of 2011 at age 93), during one of his final segments, reflected on being drafted during World War II. At that time, Andy was ripped out of his current easy life of persuing higher education and chasing his dreams, and was instead dropped into a warzone and forced to wear an American uniform and defend his country and the world against the threat of Nazi Germany and Hitler. At the time, Andy Rooney felt that his life may just be over. Would he even get out alive?

Many an American hero has felt these same feelings during wartime as United States soldiers and military-men, or even Fire Fighters or Police Officers, who are simply doing their duty. 70 years later, Andy Rooney reflected on how much that moment and event of his young life taught him. How much going to war matured him, and he said it was the pride of his life. That event made him into the force of nature that he would become; and it was only possible because he was forced to go to war. Upon reflection, Andy says that being in uniform taught him skills, abilities, determination and self-reliance that he never would have learned in a college setting. Sitting in a classroom does not, cannot and will never prepare a person for the rigors and the trenches of real life outside your four walls.

As they say, there is a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path. A great difference.

God knows all, and God knows what will happen at the other side of the tunnel, whose light is not yet seen by the one who has just entered said tunnel. While the death of a loved one, for example, can seem like the end of the world. It may just be the beginning… of an all-new perspective and an all-new love and zeal for life. At least it will for the ones who understand that these moments teach and mature us, no matter how horrible they are to live through.

Life after all, is all about perspective. And in the end, in God’s eyes, maturity supersedes comfort. Words to life by!
