There. I knew that’d get your attention.
Well, that was a big mistake (ignoring Dishonored), as this new game looks absolutely mind-blowing. Calling it a first-person action game does the title a disservice, as the whole game weaves a complex, deep, philosophical tale akin to games like Bioshock or Deus Ex that makes it much more than the sum of its parts. While it does offer first-person action that includes brutal stealth kills and the like, the setting of the game is extremely unique as is the game’s awesome art-style that attempts to bring classical paintings to life… All of this is wrapped up in a deep and fully realized world. One you will want to get lost in as you dive into the game’s tale of an assassin who is accused of killing the Empress he was honored to protect.
Here’s the intense Dishonored Story Trailer.
As you will see in the developer diary below, the game offers a unique painted art style that really brings the world to life in a way that hasn’t really been done before. The developers call this “Steampunk Beauty” and it is truly a sight to behold.
The developers also worked on the little-known action RPG title “Arx Fatalis”, as well as the PC version of Ubisoft’s Dark Messiah of Might and Magic FPS RPG in 2006. They additionally helped develop Bioshock 2.
Here is a Dishonored Developer Diary, explaining the nature behind “Dishonored”, how it came to be, what the game is, the incredible art-style and production values behind the game. And what “Steampunk Beauty” truly entails. After watching this, you will definitely be pumped for this new game!
