Helping to promote the game and get fans excited is Club Nintendo, who is offering up free Kid Icarus: Uprising AR Idol Cards, for use with the AR Card Battling feature, wherein you can face two AR Cards towards each other and have them enter a battle! Using the Nintendo 3DS stereoscopic 3D camera, the characters, items, and weapons on the cards will pop up in front of your eyes and come to life before you! Six Kid Icarus: Uprising AR Cards will come included with the game out of a group of 20, and there are numerous ways to get your greedy mitts on additional cards! Have fun finding and collecting them, and trade them with your friends to try and collect a full set! (not sure how many cards there are total)

Studio 4C impresses with it's handdrawn Medusa's Revenge Kid Icarus: Uprising anime exclusively on Nintendo Video!
Another way Nintendo is promoting Kid Icarus: Uprising is via an anime series of shorts developed by select famous anime studios that is currently running exclusively on Nintendo Video, a channel available to 3DS owners on their Nintendo 3DS. Go to the Nintendo Video Channel now and you can watch Thanatos Rising by Production I.G. in three installments, and the first installment of Medusa’s Revenge by Studio 4C! After Medusa’s Revenge, Kid Icarus: Uprising fans will have one more anime to look forward to, the next one by Shaft Inc.!
In my humble opinion the Thanatos Rising episode was pretty dumb, but Medusa’s Revenge was totally awesome so far. AND Medusa’s Revenge makes use of actual handdrawn artwork, instead of in-game quality CG.
In addition, those who pre-order Kid Icarus: Uprising at GameStop, Amazon or Best Buy will get a special code included, that allows you to download a free copy of the exclusive 3D Classics: Kid Icarus! This special title (which, so far, has not been announced for release elsewhere) gives the stereoscopic, glasses-free remake treatment to the 8-bit NES classic “Kid Icarus”! Previous games in the “3D Classics” line include 3D Classics: Xevious (a game I’m totally addicted too!), 3D Classics: Excitebike, 3D Classics: Urban Champion, 3D Classics: Kirby’s Adventure and 3D Classics: TwinBee.
Here’s a trailer for Kid Icarus: Uprising!
I CAN’T WAIT for this game! Hopefully Nintendo will provide me with a review copy so I can review it for you guys! Who else is looking forward to Kid Icarus: Uprising, and do you think it represents a real “revival” of the 3DS? Considering the landslide of quality games that have hit the system since late last year.
I’m speaking of games like Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Pokemon Rumble Blast, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil: Revelations, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Shinobi and Tetris Axis, they’ve really given the 3DS quite a great lineup.
When you consider all things, the 3DS has quite a great little library when you really think about it. :)
