It’s a sad day as Michael Clarke Duncan has died of a heart attack (yesterday on September 3rd), or rather complications from a heart attack that he suffered in July. Two months later, he would pass away at the hospital.
His fiancee had originally found him and successfully revived him, her name is Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth. Sadly though he wouldn’t live much longer.
Before becoming a black actor famous in such films as The Green Mile, Armageddon, The Scorpion King, Kung Fu Panda, The Whole Nine Yards, Planet of the Apes (2001) and many others, he was the Body Guard for several stars, including The Notorious B.I.G., Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, LL Cool J, Jamie Foxx and others. He was nominated for many awards following his breakout role in The Green Mile.
He gained additional fame and popularity when he portrayed The Kingpin in Marvel Comic’s Daredevil film alongside Ben Affleck, due to the fact that Kingpin was white in the comics, yet they choose a black man to portray him in the film. This would popularize the practice in later comicbook films, such as in The Avengers, where the normally white Nick Fury was portrayed by black actor Samuel L. Jackson.
R.I.P. Michael, you will be missed. :( Very sad, especially that he died so young.
