Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Stage Demo, Floor Footage E3 2013 Press Conference Trailer Videos (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Angel Gameplay Battle Screenshot

Awesome angelic boss battle!

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is coming in 2014 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. At E3 2013 we saw even more awesome footage of the game in action.

Gameplay-wise, the game looks to be pretty much exactly the same, but developer MercurySteam has kicked everything up a notch with the powers and moves you have available, and the fact that you play as Dracula himself in this game is absolutely awesome.

The game also has more of a goth focus, even though it is set in the modern world.

Players can now upgrade their Weapons by the combos you perform, instead of having to use in-game currency. Putting the focus squarely back on fighting and taking out enemies.

Additionally there will be no loading times during the Story Mode and it will also be much longer than the previous game.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 E3 2013 Konami Press Conference Gameplay Walkthrough

One cool new focus of this game will be on platforming, something that took a major backseat with the first Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but has been a huge focus of past Castlevania games… And the way the developers brought it back is very well done and cool, reminding me of something like Prince of Persia.

Check out the videos to see more of the nitty-gritty with the next installment in the Castlevania series, hitting in 2014 for current-gen consoles and PC.

Beyond: Two Souls E3 2013 Stage Demo, Floor Footage, Press Conference Trailer Videos (PS3)

Beyond: Two Souls Gameplay Screenshot (E3 2013)

You got your 3rd person shooting action in my Beyond!

Beyond: Two Souls for PlayStation 3 was one of the highlights of Sony’s E3 2013 Press Conference, proving that their current-gen system has just as many heavy-hitters as their next-gen console, the PS4.

Beyond: Two Souls E3 2013 Trailer Video

Despite the fact that Beyond: Two Souls was featured at last year’s E3, the game still turned heads even in 2013 at this year’s E3, where the developers showed off an all-new, extremely action-packed segment of the game that is as far removed from Heavy Rain (Beyond developer Quantic Dream’s previous game) in the gameplay department as you can get. With a focus on third-person shooting and twitch gameplay.

Beyond: Two Souls E3 2013 Sony Press Conference Gameplay Walkthrough Demo

While Heavy Rain was extremely “adventure-focused”, somewhat slow-moving, and with action scenes that were entirely based on QTE (Quick-Time Events, the button for an action pops up and you have to hit it to pass, fail or alter what’s happening on-screen); this new footage for Beyond: Two Souls, proved that the game is still full of surprises, and it won’t be a simple follow-up to Heavy Rain.

Beyond: Two Souls E3 2013 Floor Footage

Even though we know a lot about the game, we still don’t know everything, as this E3 proved. And excitement for Beyond has grown even beyond (pun not intended) what it was before. Beyond: Two Souls is definitely one of my most hotly anticipated titles, and another reason to stick with current-gen over next-gen.

From the visionary mind of David Cage, director of the award-winning Heavy Rain, comes the most powerfully emotional experience on PlayStation 3. A singularly unique psychological action thriller delivered by A-list Hollywood performances, Beyond: Two Souls takes you on a thrilling journey across the globe as you play out the remarkable life of Jodie Holmes.

Beyond: Two Souls E3 2013 GameTrailers Stage Demo

Key Beyond: Two Souls Features:
* Born with a connection to a mysterious entity with incredible powers, Jodie was different. In an adventure spanning 15 years of her life, your actions will determine Jodie’s fate as she faces extraordinary challenges, danger, and heart-wrenching loss on a journey to discover the truth of who she is. Beyond promises an emotionally-charged journey unlike any video game before.
* Dive into a gripping and unpredictable psychological action thriller starring Academy Award-nominees Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe.
* Explore stunning and varied settings across the world in an epic journey through 15 years of a character’s life.
* Control Jodie and an invisible entity through spectacular action sequences and puzzles with unique controls.
* Experience cutting-edge technology from Quantic Dream in one of the best-looking games ever seen on the PlayStation 3.

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure Brings Superman, Batman, Joker, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Lex, Darkseid, Doomsday To Cartoon Life (WiiU, 3DS, PC). Trailer Videos, Screenshots E3 2013

Scribblenauts Unmasked Superman Gameplay Screenshot (WiiU)

Superman in Scribblenauts? AWESOME!

Scribblenauts Unmasked – A DC Comics Adventure is coming to WiiU, 3DS and PC, and brings the world of DC superheroes to the cartoony, anything-goes Scribblenauts universe! Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Joker, Catwoman, Darkseid, Lex Luthor and more, both heroes and villains, will be seen throughout the game.

In the game players will take control of these heroes (Batman, Superman) and villains (Lex, Darkseid) to accomplish various objectives in the game’s new single-player story mode, or can summon these heroes and villains into the game at any point.

Every single version from that characters past is also in the game (including a whopping 130 different Green Lantern characters!), and players can even mix-and-match pieces of each Superhero to create their own custom heroes!

Want to make “Super-Batman” by mixing Superman and Batman into one? GO FOR IT! What about “Super Doomsday?” How about “Lantern Wonder Woman”?. All of it is possible.

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure Heroes Wallpaper (WiiU, 3DS, PC)

So. Awesome!

Like in previous games, any words you type come to life in the game world, and not only are hundreds of thousands of objects covered via the game’s dictionary, but so are a number of objectives and action words. Ever wanted to see a Zombified Mummy Highspeed Batman? Then this is the game you need! If you were to type those words, a Zombified Mummied, fast-moving Batman would appear next to you! You must use this dictionary, which now includes an insane amount of words (exact amount coming soon), to come up with your own solution to solving puzzles. Not only that, but now you can actually view the dictionary itself, so you can see words that may be missing.

You’ll need to use these words to solve puzzles, and solve them in any way you see fit. Need to burn a tree down? Use Superman’s Heat Vision. Or use Wonder Woman to pull it up from the roots. Or you can simply summon fire to burn it to the ground. Summon rot to eat it from the inside. Or create a beaver to munch the tree down. Maybe use a tornado to blow the tree away. Or use a Rhino to ram it to bits! The choice is your’s!

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure also features the Bat Computer, which allows you to view profiles and detailed description on all of the DC Comics Heroes, Villains, Items, Vehicles, etc. that appear in the game! Awesome!

This game looks like another huge hit for developer 5th Cell, who previous brought us the original Scribblenauts for DS in 2009.

Here are the list of Scribblenauts games for the uninitiated.

The sequel Super Scribblenauts for DS was released in 2010. The mobile version, Scribblenauts Remix hit iOS in 2011. The first console version, Scribblenauts Unlimited, was released for WiiU’s launch in 2012 as well as on PC via Steam and for 3DS. A 2-in-1 DS combo pack containing Scribblenauts and Super Scribblenauts was also released. Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure marks the 4th game in the series. 5th Cell also made a similar series for DS called “Drawn to Life”, which featured players using drawings instead of typing words. That game got a spin-off called Drawn to Life: SpongeBob SquarePants Edition in 2008, also for DS. As well as a Wii and DS sequel called “Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter” in 2009.

Batman: Arkham City Wii U Armored Edition Announced (E3 2012). Uses Wii U GamePad Tablet Touchscreen Controller To Add New Features. Trailers, Videos and Stage Demo

Batman: Arkham City Wii U Joker and Harley Quinn Screenshot

The Joker and Harley Quinn land on Wii U with Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition.

Batman: Arkham City – Armored Edition for Wii U was one of the biggest games Nintendo was touting for the next-generation console at the E3 2012 Nintendo Press Conference.

The game takes the best game of 2011 and expands on it by making extensive use of the Wii U GamePad’s tablet controller and its touchscreen, allowing the player increased functionality, new moves, and streamlined accessibility to Batman’s weapons and gadgets, all at the touch of a button. This also frees the main screen from clutter and menus, as all menus now take place on the Wii U GamePad controller, meaning you do not need to ever pause the game! This is the same type of streamlining that developers are bringing to other games like ZombieU and Rayman Legends.

Here is the E3 2012 announcement trailer and video for Batman: Arkahm City Armored Edition.

Developed by WB Games Montreal, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is the enhanced version of the award-winning blockbuster videogame created by Rocksteady Studios. The Wii U version delivers the same impactful story and gameplay as the original title, this time with enhanced gameplay mechanics and features made possible with the Wii U and the new controller.

Batman: Arkham City is based on DC Comics’ core Batman license and is set in Arkham City, the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Featuring an incredible Rogues Gallery of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals including Catwoman, The Joker, The Riddler, Two-Face, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze and many others, the game allows players to genuinely experience what it feels like to be The Dark Knight delivering justice on the streets of Gotham City.

Here is the E3 2012 Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition Official Trailer.

Key Features of Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition For Wii U Include:

Battle Armored Tech Mode (B.A.T. Mode)

A new upgraded battle suit for both Batman and Catwoman gives players an additional power-up by allowing them to build up kinetic energy during combat. When activated, Batman enters B.A.T. mode, whereby he doles out more damage and has a heightened sense of enemy locations.

Wii U New Controller Functionality
The new controller’s touch screen allows players to truly be The World’s Greatest Detective with the newly designed, wrist-mounted Batcomputer. Players can select their gadget, track evidence, upgrade their gear, set and detonate bombs, and more, all without ever leaving the game.

Reimagined Gadgets
All gadgets have been reimagined to utilize the power of the new controller. For example, players can now use the new Sonar mode that enables Batman to quickly probe his surroundings to develop the tactics needed for success. Players can then select, customize and equip their preferred gadget loadout, as well as access a real-time map of Gotham without ever leaving the action of the game. The new controller also allows for an unprecedented level of accuracy when using the Batarang and scanning for clues.

Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition Content
Included on disc are all previously released downloadable content: Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack, Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Arkham City Skins Pack.

Here is an interview with the developer about Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition.

Beyond: Two Souls Announced (PS3) At Sony E3 2012 Press Conference. New Game From Heavy Rain Developer Quantic Dream. Jaws Are Dropped. Minds Are Blown. Trailers, Gameplay Videos and Stage Demo

Beyond: Two Souls Death Screenshot

You can immediately see the amazing graphical fidelity on display in Beyond: Two Souls.

Beyond: Two Souls is the extremely intriguing all-new title from Quantic Dream, the developers who brought us Heavy Rain, and was announced at Sony’s Pre-E3 2012 Press Conference.

Here is the Beyond: Two Souls E3 2012 debut trailer video from E3 2012.

Like Heavy Rain, “Beyond” is a PS3-exclusive heavily narrative-focused Adventure game (or so it seems) with absolutely spellbinding graphics that take realism to new heights. The game stars Ellen Page as main character Jody Holmes, a girl who is seemingly possessed by an “entity” of some sort… an entity that comes from “the world beyond…”. The trailer definitely gives you the sense that this game is a horror or thriller title, although it wasn’t strictly stated whether it is or not.

Here’s the full, official Beyond: Two Souls E3 2012 Trailer.

Like Heavy Rain, Beyond has a dark, gritty graphical style that focuses on mature themes. In this case, the theme revolves around life-after-death, and what happens when a person dies. The afterlife and the Supernatural will be explored, as players assume the role of Jody and live through the first 15 years of her life… Playing as her from early childhood all the way through to her early teen years. The player will thus grow attached to this character, and grow with her, piecing together what has made her into the woman she becomes. Hints have been dropped that there are more playable characters, and that you will play as the aforementioned “entity” at some point in the game according to producer David Cage.

Here is an indepth live demo of Beyond: Two Souls with IGN!

Beyond will also be more action-focused than Heavy Rain was, pushing that side more than the slower-paced adventure-side, although it will use the same kind of heavy narrative structure, with lots of movie-scene and cutscenes (many playable, surely) that make up the brunt of the game in typical Quantic Dream style. The game also makes use of the PlayStation Move motion controller.

Beyond: Two Souls is scheduled for release in early 2013.

Here is 23 minutes of Beyond: Two Souls Gameplay Footage! We even get to see the combat mechanic in action!

New Super Mario Bros. U E3 2012 Gameplay Stage Demo and Trailer. New Name For New Super Mario Bros. Mii. Launch Game Release For Wii U This Holiday 2012. Iwata Asks Takashi Tezuka Video Interview

New Super Mario Bros. U Gameplay Screenshot Is Beautiful

Look how beautiful that HD background is in this New Super Mario Bros. U gameplay screenshot!

New Super Mario Bros. U for Wii U is the new name for the previously revealed “New Super Mario Bros. Mii”, a title shown at last year’s E3, and now with an official name change and launch date; It will be a launch game for the Wii U “this holiday 2012”, as revealed at Nintendo’s E3 2012 Press Conference. Where the game was one of the biggest highlights of the show.

It is also the first Mario game ever that is now produced directly by Shigeru Miyamoto, instead being produced by longtime Nintendo EAD General Manager Takashi Tezuka, who has directed along with Miyamoto on virtually every Nintendo game for the past 25 years, including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and even New Super Mario Bros.

New Super Mario Bros. U Giant Goomba and Giant Koopa

Giant Koopa and Giant Goomba! AWESOME!

New Super Mario Bros. U introduces new elements, expands on the elements introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Wii released in 2009 for the original Wii, and introduces all new features and elements that take advantage of the new Wii U GamePad tablet controller.

The biggest addition to the game is the ability to play as your Mii in place of Mario, Luigi and Toads, as seen NSMB Wii. Now you can play four-player with each player taking controller of their Mii character. The thought behind this is that it is easier to not lose track of your character when their big head is YOUR head… the head of your Mii. Whether this actually works in practice remains to be seen. When Miis are small they look exactly like you’d expect, however collect a Mushroom and they will grow in size and wear a “Mario character” suit, dressed in red like Mario, Green like Luigi, Yellow like Wario or Purple Like Waluigi!

Here is the New Super Mario Bros. U E3 2012 Nintendo Press Conference Stage Demo for the Wii U launch game.

Also returning are Small Yoshis! Who you can use to eat enemies and turn them into… presumably, big Yoshis. (at least, I think those were Yoshis… *checks* Okay it is confirmed they ARE Small Yoshi!). One of the biggest new features is the ability to play the game using “Boost Mode”. In this mode, one player uses the Wii U GamePad tablet controller, and can place “Boost Blocks” anywhere on the screen using the Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen.

New Super Mario Bros. U Boost Mode Screenshot Wii U GamePad Touchscreen Controller

Touch the GamePad controller touchscreen to place Boost Blocks to help or hinder other players!

By doing this, he can help up to four-players who are playing the game with the Wii Remote. He can even change these blocks into smaller Coin Blocks. Of course, while the co-op player can help, they can also hinder by placing blocks to make life more difficult for the players playing the game. Nintendo even specifically mentioned that these Boost Blocks can be strategically placed in order to create better and improved Speedrun scores. It’s always great to see Nintendo discuss the speedrunning phenomenon! A phenomenon they started with Metroid, wherein players try to beat the game in the fastest time possible.

A very cool new Power-Up has been introduced for the first time in New Super Mario Bros. U, and it is the “Flying Squirrel Mario Suit”. By turning in Flying Squirrel Mario, Mario dons squirrel-like wings under his arms that allow him to gently glide and gain a boost of momentum and air by flicking the Wii U GamePad or Wii Remote!

Here is an indepth Takashi Tezuka New Super Mario Bros. U text interview, as well as the Nintendo Iwata Asks New Super Mario Bros. U interview with Takashi Tezuka.

Additionally, the different colored Small Yoshis offer all kinds of new abilities based on their color. Pink ones stretch out vertically and allow you to float through the air by fattening up, Blue Small Yoshi spit out bubbles and Yellow Small Yoshi give off light.

The other biggest feature for the game is the introduction of MiiVerse, Nintendo’s new online social feature built-in to the Wii U and inherently supported by every game. Using MiiVerse in New Super Mario Bros. U allows your friends to leave messages, like hints, tips, tricks, boasts, etc. on the actual World Map itself! These show up as speech balloons! And just like on the Wii U Main Menu, the MiiVerse screen itself, players can even take a screenshot, leave emoticons, or draw pictures in their messages! Very, VERY cool when you see this in action.

As for as the actual gameplay itself, it is typical sidescrolling Mario action. Goomba stomping, Koopa kicking, block busting, coin collecting, Power-Up nabbing, pit leaping, obstacle navigating, pipe-entering, run and jump action, as you head from the left to the right of the screen and navigate through the level from beginning to end. Nothing to see here, but now it comes in HD! The high-definition next-gen graphics deifnitely give the game a nice sheen to the graphics, but otherwise it looks exactly the same as New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Which is to say, it looks like a whole barrel of fun! In single-player or multiplayer!

Here is the New Super Mario Bros. U official E3 2012 trailer.
