Song of the Day – Like It Love It Need It (DC Talk Month. Lyrics Included) From Jesus Freak Album

Today’s DC Talk Month Song of the Day is “Like It Love It Need It” from their 1995 album Jesus Freak. This song is track #8 of 13.

Like It, Love It, Need It is a head-bobber about the state of the current generation who spends their time complaining and trying to find peace of mind in everything but Jesus. This is such an awesome song, and it holds up extremely well.

Like It Love It Need It DC Talk Song Lyrics

VERSE 1:
Under these circumstances they can hardly cope
Notice their fleeting glances and their lack of hope
I offer this suggestion they don’t seem to care-o
This is my generation drowning in dispair-o

You’ll never find peace of mind in your pool of self
You’ll never find peace of mind in a sea of wealth
You’ll never find peace of mind in your rock and roll
You’ll never find peace of mind if you sell your soul

CHORUS:
You gotta like it, You gotta love it
I know you need some Jesus in your life
You gotta like it, You gotta love it
I know you need some Jesus in your life

VERSE 2:
We circumvent our feelings through an angry sound
He who complains the loudest wears the fattest crown
We’re anti-everybody call it paranoia
Well, I ain’t no judge or jury, but I’m praying for ya

You’ll never find peace of mind in your lucky charm
You’ll never find peace of mind on a hippie farm
You’ll never find peace of mind in a one-night stand
You’ll never find peace of mind in your superman

(Chorus x2)

Bridge/Rap:
Ya dropped right in the middle of a freak attack
Cause we’re back and we’re comin’ like that
Ya see we’re lowerin’ the boom in the middle of the tune
Cause the funk is always heavy where it’s at
So, while you’re whining all the time never changing any minds
It is clear to see your lip has lost it’s button
Cause, if ya take a think at this it is easy to admit
That the selfish way you’re living is for nothing

(Chorus x4)

Song of the Day – Lean On Me (DC Talk Month. Lyrics Included) From Intermission Album

Today’s DC Talk Month Song of the Day is “Lean On Me” from their 1992 album Free At Last. This song is track #12 of 17.

“Lean On Me” is a totally 80’s infused sing-along, danceable, harmonizing piece of amazing music. It has a really nice feel to it that isn’t lame like a lot of songs from Free At Last (well for the most part, there is a rap at the end), and still sounds great even today in 2013. It’s just a fun song. And one of the best from Free At Last.

Lean On Me DC Talk Song Lyrics

[Oldie but a goodie]
[1, 2, 3, funky]
[True MC, True MC]
[Everybody listens to the True MC]

True MC, no slack on the track
Here to tell the people that love’s what we lack
In this family we gotta love like Christ
So precise in your life so take this advice
Brother to brother we need to learn to love each other
So lean on me when you’re in trouble
I cast my cares on Christ ’cause He cares for me
So when you need a shoulder to cry on, just lean

[Props to my man speedy, 1, 2, 3]

Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long ’til
I’m gonna need somebody to lean on

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain, we all have sorrows
But, if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long ’til
I’m gonna need somebody to lean on

Please, swallow your pride
If I have things that you need to borrow
For, no one can fill those of your needs
If you won’t let them show

Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long ’til
I’m gonna need somebody to lean on

You just call on your brother when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have some problems that you’d understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long ’til
I’m gonna need somebody to lean on

Make it funky, make it funky
Make it funky, make it funky
Make it funky, make it funky

Cause I’m housin’ this joint
Like a brother with an attitude
And comin’ straight so you best give me latitude
Leanin’ on my boys from the word get go
And bein’ there for them cause the Lord said so
Many of us just don’t know what to do
Well take it here and now from the boy named true
Don’t dog a brother out when he stumbles and falls
Just be there to lean on y’all

Call me, call me, just call me,
Call me, call me, just call me, lean on me
Don’t you know that I’ll be there, you can lean on me
Don’t you know that I’ll be there, you can lean on me
Don’t you know that I’ll be there, you can lean on me

Song of the Day – In the Light (DC Talk Month. Lyrics Included) From Intermission Album

Today’s DC Talk Month Song of the Day is “In the Light” from their 1995 album Jesus Freak. This song is track #10 of 13.

In the Light is an absolutely fabulous song, one of their best. It’s hard to pick a best DC Talk song cause all of them are fantastic, but if there was one song to show to someone, this would could easily win as it is an amazing track. It can still bring me to tears to this day, it is such a moving piece. Enjoy!

In the Light DC Talk Song Lyrics

[1, 2, 3]

I keep trying to find a life
On my own, apart from You
I am the king of excuses
I’ve got one for every selfish thing I do

What’s going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That I’m still a man in need of a Savior

(chorus)
I want to be in the Light
As You are in the Light
I want to shine like the stars in the heavens
Oh, Lord be my Light and be my salvation
Cause all I want is to be in the Light
All I want is to be in the Light

The disease of self runs through my blood
It’s a cancer fatal to my soul
Every attempt on my behalf has failed
To bring this sickness under control

Tell me, what’s going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That I’m still a man in need of a Savior

(repeat chorus)

Honesty becomes me
[There’s nothing left to lose]
The secrets that did run me
[In Your presence are defused]
Pride has no position
[And riches have no worth]
The fame that once did cover me
[Has been sentenced to this Earth]
Has been sentenced to this Earth

Tell me, what’s going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That I’m still a man in need of a Savior

(repeat chorus 2x)

[There’s no other place that I want to be]
[No other place that I can see]
[A place to be that’s just right]
[Someday I’m gonna be in the Light]
[You are in the Light]
[That’s where I need to be]
[That’s right where I need to be]

Song of the Day – The Hardway Remix (DC Talk Month. Lyrics Included) From Intermission Album

Today’s DC Talk Month Song of the Day is “The Hardway Remix” from their 2001 album Intermission. This song is track #14 of 19 and is a remix of the original version from the “Free At Last” album. Both versions are great but I love this version more.

The Hardway Remix is one of the best songs DC Talk has ever written and composed IMHO, and I love the remix done here from Intermission. This is a phenomenal song. It’s slow but not too slow, with a really cool beat. Enjoy.

The Hardway Remix DC Talk Song Lyrics

Some people gotta learn the hardway
I guess I’m the kinda guy that has to find out for myself
I had to learn the hardway, father
I’m on my knees and I’m crying for help

Now I’ve been high and I’ve been low
I’ve been some places that you will not go
I never thought there would come the day
When I wished I never would’ve lived this way

But I’ve been searching for a long time
I thought the devil was a friend of mine
I turned my back on everything that was true
And wasted years that belonged to you

Some people gotta learn the hardway
I guess I’m the kinda guy that has to find out for myself
I had to learn the hardway, father
I’m on my knees and I’m crying for help

It took so long for me to see
That I’m a victim of nature and me
Left to myself, I realize
I am the maker of my own demise

But you accept me every time and again
And never mention just how selfish I’ve been
Why must it always take me so long to see
That I have fallen, but you will forgive me

Some people gotta learn the hardway
I guess I’m the kinda guy that has to find out for myself
I had to learn the hardway, father
I’m on my knees and I’m crying for help

The warning signs are like flares in the night
Still I proceed my greed is in spite
Of the fire I know that’s bound to burn
Why is it that I always gotta learn the hardway

The hardway
I had to learn the hardway

The hardway
The hardway
I had to learn the hardway

Here is the original version of the song from “Free At Last”, track #10 of 17. This version is also absolutely fantastic.

Here is the official The Hardway DC Talk Music Video to the original version of the song. Which features the band inside a prison surrounded by real-life prisoners (or so one assumes), giving a real face to the theme of the song, those who have to learn “The Hardway”. There is an awesome quote at the end of the music video by Martin Luther King, “Every man is somebody, because he is a child of God.” Amen!

Song of the Day – My Friend (So Long) (DC Talk Month. Lyrics Included) From Intermission Album

Today’s DC Talk Month Song of the Day is “My Friend (So Long)” from their 1998 album Supernatural. This song is track #5 of 14.

“My Friend (So Long)” is one of the most different songs on the album and it takes a bit to get used to it, but I also liked this track. It gets better with future listenings but sounds a little weird at first. I love all the little vocal things they do in this song, like the “nananananana you’re gone” at the end. Enjoy.

My Friend (So Long) DC Talk Song Lyrics

I heard your record on the telephone
It was my cousin, Joan
She picked it up from the top 40 rack and then

I read your interview in Rolling Stone
You threw the boys a bone
And so I genuinely felt obliged to call

I know You never meant to hurt us, man
We’re just a baby band
You found a quicker way
To scale the wall of fame

The situation’s awfully dim
Should we up and go with him?
No way [no way, 1, 2, 3, 4]

(chorus)
We know exactly where you are, and you’re gone [my friend]
Don’t know exactly where you’re coming from
You’ve gone away my friend
We know exactly where you are, and you’re gone [my friend]
Don’t know exactly where you’re coming from
You’ve gone astray [gone]

I saw your video on VH-1
Looks like they spent a ton
How does it feel to be the flavor for a spell

And I remember when you used to say
“Jesus is the way”
I never thought I’d see your light begin to fade

The situation’s awfully dim
Should we up and go with him?
No way [no way, 1, 2, 3, 4]

(repeat chorus)

(bridge)
Don’t think we don’t miss you
[We think about you every day]
We still love you anyway
[Love don’t go away]
There’s still this burning question
[I got to know] Why?

[What will people think when they
Hear that I’m a Jesus freak?]

Ah, ah, ah [hey]
[While this is something of fantasy]
[The moral of the story is]
[To stick with your friends]
Ah, ah, ah, ah [hey]
Ah, ah, ah, [hey]
Ah, ah, ah [hey, hey, 1, 2, 3, 4]

(repeat chorus)

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, and you’re gone [my friend]
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, so long
You’ve gone away, my friend
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, and you’re gone [my friend]
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, so long
We’ll see you someday
Wish you well
Na, na, na, na, na, my friend

——

Song of the Day – Wanna Be Loved (DC Talk Month. Lyrics Included) From Supernatural Album

Today’s DC Talk Month Song of the Day is “Wanna Be Loved” from their 1998 album Supernatural. This song is track #8 of 14.

Wanna Be Loved is one of my favorite songs off the Supernatural album, simply because it’s such a great theme… The song talks about the fact that every one wants someone to love, and deserves a lover back. And there is nothing at all wrong with that. This is a high quality tune, and it really grows on you. Enjoy!

Wanna Be Loved DC Talk Song Lyrics

A rainy monday afternoon
There’s a funk over the city
Everybody’s movin’ to a different tune
Some are weak
And some are strong
And some are sittin’ pretty
Then there’s others who are barely hangin’ on

It’s no easy situation
People living in their separate worlds
But one thing that we’ve got in common is

We all wanna be loved
We all want just a little respect
We all wanna be loved
Tell me what’s wrong with that

I’ve never heard a dying soul
Wish that he had taken
More time on his portfolio
I swear, I’ve never heard a Mama say
Should’ve never had that baby
As a Doctor holds her newborn on display

It’s the heavenly prescription
A little bit will go a long, long way
Just put yourself in their position, don’t

(Chorus)

Faith and hope are worth a mention
But love is holding it’s position…cause

(Chorus)

March will feature songs from most of dc Talk’s discography (1992’s Free At Last, 1995’s Jesus Freak, 1998’s Supernatural and 2000’s Intermission) featured daily throughout the month, one a day. Whether you like rock/alternative/hip-hop music, believe in God or not, check these songs out as you may be pleasantly surprised and hopefully you will discover some new-to-your-ears music to enjoy. DC Talk features lots of variety in their tunes, from hard rock to hip-hop to slow ballads that will pull on your heartstrings to singable power pop, so there will most certainly be something you’ll like. Enjoy! Read the rest of this entry »

Nintendo Direct Valentine’s Day Full Video Presentations (America, Europe, Japan)

Nintendo Direct Valentine’s Day was a hit as Nintendo revealed lots of new information and release dates for upcoming games for WiiU, 3DS, and their digital services.

Although there were no megaton announcements, there is a lot to get excited about from Nintendo. And we have a very exciting E3 2013 to look forward too, where hopefully Nintendo will make waves with the first footage of the new WiiU Zelda, WiiU Metroid, WiiU and 3DS Smash Bros., and whatever else they have under their sleeves!

For now enjoy these Nintendo Direct full video presentations!

Metal Songs of the Day – The Latest And the Last + Grand Finale (Demon Hunter Month. Lyrics Included) From Summer of Darkness and Storm the Gates of Hell Albums (2004, 2007)

The Latest and the Last + Grand Finale brings Demon Hunter Month to a pulverizing close, capping off this epic run of incredible Christian metal with two of my all-time favorite Demon Hunter songs; both of which fitting cap off equally epic albums.

The Latest & the Last is the final song on 2004’s Summer of Darkness, a brutal and awesome ending to Demon Hunter’s sophomore album, whereas Grand Finale is the much more recent capping off of 2007’s incredible fourth album, Storm the Gates of Hell Deluxe Edition; and a perfectly fitting epilogue and tribute to the Second Coming of Christ that is about as good a fit as anyone could come up with to close the book on Demon Hunter month, January 2013. Sit back and enjoy two of the most baddest Christian metal songs ever penned!

The Latest & The Last Lyrics:

Words of high cost
YOU SPIT A CURSE AT MY NAME
When thoughts of hate cross
I CAN’T DEVOUR YOUR BLAME
This is your choice
THIS IS YOUR HAMMER TO CRUSH
I have no voice
YOU’RE NOT THE HAND THAT I TRUST

THROW IT DOWN ON ME
THROW IT DOWN ON ME

Before you break your silence
Before we tear this open
We’ll count the dead and hopeless
For every word unspoken

Thoughts, like blood, run
FOREVER STAINING YOUR HANDS
Mouth like cold gun
BEFORE THE BARREL WE STAND
The latest and the last
YOU PUT A PRICE ON MY HEAD
The latest and the last
THE WORST IS ALREADY SAID

THROW IT DOWN ON ME
THROW IT DOWN ON ME

Before you break your silence
Before we tear this open
We’ll count the dead and hopeless
For every word unspoken
Before you break your silence
Before we tear this open
We’ll count the dead and hopeless
For every word unspoken

Spilling through your teeth
You’re sick of what you’ve seen
You point your guilt at every step we took in loyalty
Spilling through your teeth
You’re sick of what you’ve seen
You point your guilt at every step we took in loyalty

Before you break your silence
Before we tear this open
We’ll count the dead and hopeless
For every word unspoken
Before you break your silence
Before we tear this open
We’ll count the dead and hopeless
For every word unspoken

THROW IT DOWN ON ME

Grand Finale Lyrics

You’ll find me face down, hands bound, ready for the blade to make me two
If judgment falls to meet this ground, that fate will run me through
No day of wrath will see me break for that faithless breath of shame
When the heretics come to make that list, be true to speak my Name

Leave all you see
The curse of man is dead, the hourglass turned on its head
And every care will fade away . . .
(To wake a new day)

Take every throe within us all
The very breath inside our soul
We bleed the life into your hold . . .
The very death of our control

No man can bring a fatal sting and I laugh at the gallows thrall
Just line it tight around my neck, so my words will break that fall
FALL

Leave all you see
The curse of man is dead, the hourglass turned on its head
And every care will fade away . . .
(To wake a new day)

Take every throe within us all
The very breath inside our soul
We bleed the life into your hold . . .
The very death of our control

That final day will fall
And those who curse the sky will face the earth . . .
The many turn to one . . .
The God of Gods own righteous Son
Begging for that second BIRTH!

Take every throe within us all
The very breath inside our soul
We bleed the life into your hold . . .
The very death of our control

About Demon Hunter Month

Demon Hunter’s sound is extremely diverse, not all songs feature screams and growls, some are slow, sung ballads; others are heartfelt, all are deep with powerful lyrics that will make you think and ponder, as the sound takes you away.

Pokemon X And Pokemon Y Release Date Worldwide 3DS (America, Europe, Australia, Japan) In October 2013. Full Pokemon Direct Nintendo Announcement Video And Gameplay Footage

Pokemon Y Legendary CG Screenshot

The awesome looking Pokemon Y Red Legendary!

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will be released in October 2013 at the same time worldwide! The games will hit in the USA and North America, Europe, Australia and Japan at the same exact time. Pokemon Y Legendary and X Legendary were also revealed, as you can see at the top and bottom of this article in CG screenshots.

Update: The legendary Pokemon named have officially been unveiled! They are the Flying Legendary Yveltal (pronounced ee-VELL-tawl) and the deer-like “Xerneas” (pronounced Xerneas).

During the announcement of these new games with the first ever Pokemon-themed Nintendo Direct (called “Pokemon Direct”), Nintendo President Satoru Iwata spoke in English throughout the whole video and revealed that Nintendo, Game Freak, Tree House and The Pokemon Company are making a humongous effort to translate and localize Pokemon X & Y while they are still in development. They will apparently be working hand-in-hand to translate from Japanese into English and other European languages while the text is coming hot-off-the-press from development in Japan.

Awesome rainbow antlers for the Pokemon X Blue Legendary!

This will ensure that Pokemon fans around the world will no longer have an excruciating wait time between the Japanese release of the new Pokemon X and Pokemon Y and the English release in America, Europe and Australia. Will other languages be included in the European version upon release? It sounds like they will, although this is a daunting task for Nintendo.

Watch the full Pokemon Direct January 2013 video announcement, which includes Pokemon X and Pokemon Y gameplay footage alongside a breakdown on the history of the series in both Japan and overseas, starting from the beginning!
