WatchMePlay The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Part 2. Repeating Yesterday (Let’s Play, Longplay, N64 Wii VC)

HURRY! SOMEBODY! GIVE HIM TOILET PAPER!

In part 2 of WatchMePlay The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, we get to see the Moon finally collapse and see what happens when you DIE.

That’s right, I accidentally allow the Moon to fall, killing everyone and losing all of my progress… Which means I have to “repeat yesterday” (like the As I Lay Dying song) and do everything over. Again.

Alas, things always go quicker the second time around, so it’s not that bad…

Skull Kid wipes his ass as he moon’s you from the Clock Tower. Dirty little bastard.

We discover a child-Secret Society hidden from the eyes of all adults… only accessible to us because everyone looks at the lone Deku Scrub, small in stature, as a kid. Well I guess he is a child after all, considering Link is as well. However you cannot just enter the Secret Society, you must first play a round of hide-and-go seek, which gives us access to the observatory where we can get our hands on a sacred treasure known as the “Moon’s Tear”.

How do you get turned back to normal? The Happy Mask Shop Owner holds the key.

We also meet the Happy Mask Shop Owner, who tells us that he will return us to our former shape (back into human Link) if we can get the precious item stolen from us by the imp, back. In return however, he’ll ask that we steal back the precious item that was stolen FROM HIM. Majora’s Mask. He also warns us that we must have the precious item returned to him WITHIN THREE DAYS. A dire warning indeed, if you don’t accomplish this, the Moon can and will fall, killing you and forcing you to replay some of what you did.

WatchMePlayGames The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Let’s Play Part 1. Opening and Intro, Meeting Skull Kid, Happy Mask Salesman. (Longplay On Wii Virtual Console)

Welcome to Part 1 of WatchMePlay Zelda: Majora’s Mask, just in time for the Mayan Apocalypse of 12-21-12. I thought there would be no better time to play this gem of an N64 adventure than during Doomsday, so I thought I’d start a new Let’s Play series.

In this initial installment, we watch the Opening and Introduction for Majora’s Mask. We witness Link as he wanders a mysterious forest atop his horse, Epona, where he runs into the devious Skull Kid, who steals our horse who gets spooked by two fairy! Link gives chase and we reach the edge of a cliff. Link falls into an endless abyss….. Arriving at the world of Termina and landing softly upon a flower.

However staring right at us is a new kind of evil. The Skull Kid. And he does not look pleased. Skull Kid hexes us with a dark spell that turns Link into a plant creature!

Uh oh. Trouble is afoot.

Along for the ride are two fairy siblings, a boy named Tael (red-colored) and a girl named Tatl (yellow-colored), who are companions of Skull Kid.

The fairy creatures, Tatl in yellow, and Tael in red, stalk Link in the forest.

They’re names are a play on the kid playground phrase “tattle-tale”, which embodies their childlike mischief nature. Originally with Skull Kid, Tatl gets separated from her brother following Skull Kid’s hex cast on Link, and she is thus forced to help us. Becoming Link’s companion and taking over duties from Navi in the original Ocarina of Time (though she functions exactly the same). For now, she will have to help guide us through the twists and turns of this underground dungeon….

A dead Deku…. who has turned into a twisted tree. *shivers*

After making our way through the pits and harrowing chasms thanks to Deku Link’s ability to hover using Deku Flowers…. we arrive at a peaceful windmill. There we meet the eccentric Happy Mask Salesman.

A recognizable figure appears. A man of mystery and eccentric power.

He is the owner of Hyrule’s Happy Mask Shop, and he travels the world far and wide in search of masks. He tells us that during his travels, a very important mask was stolen from him by an imp in the woods. He tells us not to think him rude, but he has been following us. He found himself at a loss because of the theft of his precious Majora’s Mask, but now he has found you. He says he knows how to return Link to his former human self. In return he promises that he can turn us back into our normal shape if we can get back that which was stolen from us, and from him.

A disturbing view from a disturbed man…

And thus our adventure begins. We wander the halls of this new dimension, known as Clock Town in the world of Termina, where we are to seek out the Great Fairy, who our new friendly fairy Tatl says can help us. But before we can do that, we need to find a lost stray fairy, and enter the observatory by playing Hide and Go Seek with some brat kids….

WatchMePlayGames: Super Meat Boy Let’s Play Part 1 (PC, Steam)

Super Meat Boy is the ultimate Indie platformer!

WatchMePlay Super Meat Boy! I finally dive into my Steam collection of over 200 games (only three of which I’ve installed) and pop in this gem of a platformer… The critically acclaimed Super Meat Boy!

This is a game that I’ve been dying to play ever since it was announced. I always wanted to play it on Xbox 360, but thanks to the numerous Indie Bundles, I also picked the title up on Steam. Luckily for me, the game supports Xbox 360 controller play, so it feels just like you are playing it on a console! This made me a happy camper! I finally decided to bust the game out and play through some of it, and recorded it all the while!

Here is the fruits of my labor, a video montage where I’ve streamed together an hour’s worth of playtime of me making my way through Super Meat Boy! Included is the entirety of Worlds 1 and 2, over four videos of me trying to defeat the negative 1 Glitch Zone, boss battles, Warp Zones, and a whole lotta fun! Additionally, I am still a newb at Super Meat Boy, so you get to see some funny moments as I go through and attempt to beat each stage with an A+ Rating!

WatchMePlayGames: Kid Icarus Uprising Let’s Play Part 4 (3DS)

Part 4 of my WatchMePlay Kid Icarus: Uprising Let’s Play on the Nintendo 3DS!

After struggling a bit to figure things out in this somewhat complicated handheld title, we dive in to Chapter 2! It is there that we meet one of the all-new Kid Icarus franchise characters, a toughguy named “Magnus” who kind of reminds me of Auron from Final Fantasy X. There is lots of funny banter between our player character, the angel Pit, and his Goddess Palutena, which is an aspect of Kid Icarus: Uprising that differentiates it from any other Nintendo game yet made. It is fully voiced with lots of great voice acting from the characters!

Fans who remembered when Kid Icarus: Uprising was first announced way back, will recall Magnus from one of the earliest gameplay videos of the game. Enjoy. :)

We head out on our journey into a new and mysterious place, known as the “little bit mysterious” Mysterious Forest. It is here where we will collect the ingredients to create a potent new item and weapon known as the Magic Powder. This Item will be crucial to lighting our way in dark dungeons! We also get to solve one of the game’s coolest and most memorable lil puzzles…
