iLLumiroom Xbox 720 Technology Projects Games From TV To Entire Room Wall. Seeing Is Believing In Video Demo From CES 2013

Very, very interesting.

Illumiroom Xbox 720 technology (most likely) has been revealed at CES 2013, projecting videogame imagery from your TV screen to the entire wall of your room! This technology will bring gaming to life like never before, adding particle effects, colored and flashing lights, falling snow or raging fire, that comes out from your TV and around the wall; lighting up your entire room. Or “illuminating” the “room”, thus “Illumiroom”.

Your Xbox 360 or Xbox 720 will do this by making use of Kinect, as well as a new projector accessory. Although this technology is still in prototype form, which means we will likely see more, and new details, at E3 2013 in June, where the Xbox 720 is expected to make it’s official debut!

Exciting and very cool. You have to see it to understand exactly what this is. But it is a very interesting idea, and could be the first shot fired in bringing real “virtual reality” to practice in a non-stupid way.

“IllumiRoom is a proof-of-concept Microsoft Research project designed to push the boundary of living room immersive entertainment by blending our virtual and physical worlds with projected visualizations/ The effects in the video are rendered in real time and are captured live – not special effects added in post processing.”

The show starts TODAY, in a couple hours as Microsoft officially launches their Pre-E3 2012 Press Conference! If the Xbox 720 is shown today, we will hear about it at THIS show! It starts in 2 hours, so log into Xbox Live and you can watch it on your TV! Or hit one of the links below.

After the Microsoft show we have: Electronic Arts’ EA Show, Ubisoft and Sony. Will we hear anything on the PS4? Then tomorrow is the big-daddy, the Nintendo show where the Wii U will be fully unveiled with the official lineup of launch games for Nintendo’s next-generation console that will be released this year and replace the Wii!

Like in previous years, GameSpot will be doing extensive live shows ever hour on the hour for the whole length of the show where they will have new games being demoed right before your eyes! You don’t want to miss it!

Also keep your eyes on Youtube Live where you can see live events that are being streamed, including E3 2012 shows, and lots of people will be uploading E3 2012 videos to youtube as soon as they are announced and shown via live stream elsewhere! FIGHT! What next-gen system most excites you? PS4, Xbox 720 or Wii U? VOTE NOW!

What upcoming next-generation videogame system, Wii U, PS4, or Xbox 720, are you most excited about?

I know its still extremely early-going to ask a question like this, given that we don’t yet know anything about the PlayStation 4 or the next-Xbox system, but we do know a lot about the Wii U. Either way, players have their own conditions they’d like settled for a next-gen system to be truly next-gen, and if one of the current systems hasn’t settled it for you, then you’ll likely be more excited about what the other manufacturers may have in-the-works.

In that way, this question will also tell us whether or not what Nintendo has shown of the Wii U, with its tablet controller, is enough to excite them more than the prospect of what Sony or Microsoft have up their sleeves.

Once the non-code-names are known for a particular system, I will update this poll question.
