Game & Wario WiiU Release Date Is June 23 2013 (USA). All New WarioWare Game Extensively Using GamePad

Game & Wario will be released on June 23rd 2013 in the US exclusively for WiiU.

Game & Wario turned out to be the official title of this game, which was initially revealed as a tentative name and tentative game. Many of the tech demoes first shown for the WiiU have been encorporated into this game to make it a full-fledged WairoWare title, and it will continue the legacy of the WarioWare series in the same vein.

It features many crazy mini-games to partake in (longer than the “microgames” of the past, thus the change in title) that will make absolutely great use of the WiiU GamePad.

More soon.

Winged Pikmin of Pink Color Join Pikmin 3’s Rock Pikmin Type (WiiU)

Pink Pikmin Winged Screenshot Pikmin 3 (WiiU)

Pink winged Pikmin!? YES!

Winged Pikmin fly in Pikmin 3 and follow the player, are red in color, and have small wings. They also kind of look like bumble bees, and they are the newest cast of Pikmin type, joining the previously revealed Rock Pikmin, in the upcoming WiiU exclusive Pikmin 3!

Keen eyes may have already caught the Winged Pikmin flying in front of the screen in previously released Pikmin 3 footage, but now full video of the little guys in action has been shown. These guys will be able to pick up and carry items to locations other Pikmin can’t reach, and can attack in swarms as they follow the player.

More soon.

3DS eShop Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Zelda: Oracle of Seasons Release Date Is May 30 2013

3DS eShop Zelda Oracle of Ages And Seasons Release Date May 30 2013

YES FINALLY! :D

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Ages will be released for 3DS eShop on May 30th 2013!

This are some of the most critically acclaimed Zelda games ever released, and were developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Color in 2001. They also were criminally overlooked, and most Zelda fans have never played the two games. I own both of them in mint condition and will be doing an unboxing, and possibly a Let’s Play, soon. I actually never got into them, so hopefully I will be able to do so and play all the way through them before their re-release!

Both games got extremely impressive reviews, even 10 out of 10, when they first came out. And they place Link in a completely unique world with all-new friends, abilities, Weapons and Items, enemies, bosses and dungeons to tackle across two titles. In Oracle of Ages Link can travel to different time-zones, with each zone of the Past, Present and Future effecting the layout of the world. Likewise, in Oracle of Seasons, Link has the ability to change the Season from Fall to Summer to Winter to Spring, each of which drastically alters the layout of the land. These abilities are crucial to solving the game’s many devious puzzles. Oracle of Ages is more focused on Puzzles, whereas Seasons is more focused on Action (or was it the other way around?).

And the only way to see the true ending was to play through BOTH titles, using a password system, you were rewarded for beating one game and then playing the other. This feature will be incorporated into the 3DS eShop version, as well as the additional shop that opened up when you played the game on a Game Boy Advance instead of Game Boy Color. Which will likely also be in the 3DS version.

These games sold over 8 million copies and were huge hits on the Game Boy Color, where they were among the last great Game Boy Color games ever released. These two games have been highly requested, so it is great to see Nintendo focusing on their digital re-release so a whole new generation of players can give them a shot! Hit the link (pun not intended) at the top of the article to read my “On the Cutting Room Floor” article about these games!

Zelda: Link to the Past 2 3DS Announced (Pics And Video)! Turn Link Into 2D-Link Drawing To Solve Puzzles, Perspective Is Major Focus

SOOO FREAKIN’ AWESOME!

The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past 2 3DS sequel to the original Link to the Past has been announced via Nintendo Direct! The new game is set in the same world as the original, but features completetly new graphics and an all-new perspective-based gameplay model! This game truly has to be seen in motion to be believed!

See the world of Hyrule from whole new perspectives!

Taking full advantage of the Nintendo 3DS and it’s stereoscopic 3D abilities, switches will knock link into the air and towards the top-down camera, to reach new levels above and below him. Here is the official reveal trailer!

Many of the same type of switch puzzles will be the focus, but Link will also have to contend with many new puzzles, all-new areas, and make use of a fantastic new ability!

2D LINK!

In another mind-blowing Nintendo Zelda innovation, Link in Link to the Past 2 (Unofficial title!) has the ability to turn into a 2D cartoon drawing, which places him directly onto a wall. He can then walk around the wall to the left and the right, allowing him to squeeze between bars, and literally move among the world from an entirely new perspective as that of a 2D painting! This effect is INSANELY cool and the gameplay possibilities are endless!

An official title and more details will be revealed at E3 2013!

EarthBound Virtual Console Releasing THIS YEAR! 3DS/WiiU eShop FINALLY!

EarthBound Virtual Console Releasing THIS YEAR! 3DS/WiiU eShop FINALLY!

EarthBound Logo In HDEarthBound will be released for WiiU eShop THIS YEAR! This was confirmed via Satoru Iwata himself during the 3DS Nintendo Direct presentation.

He specifically mentioned the passionate plea of fans who were extremely dismayed to hear that Mother II (released in the U.S. as EarthBound) was being released for Virtual Console in Japan but NO WHERE ELSE!

Well it seems that Nintendo has heard your pleas, and directly referenced the posts that people left pleading for Nintendo to release it in Europe and America on MiiVerse! Iwata also mentioned that the creator of EarthBound, Shigesato Itoi, was extremely happy that it would finally be available again for the legions of fans to officially download it.

No word on what changes, if any, will be made in the game due to “copyright concerns”, nor was a specific date given. But we’ll likely learn more at E3 2013!

* Update Note: So far EarthBound is coming to Wii U eShop ONLY, and not 3DS eShop. Hopefully the title will eventually be re-release in some form (I hope as a 3D cartridge alongside Mother I and Mother 3!) for the 3DS as well… The game would certainly look amazing with stereoscopic 3D visuals. However the 3DS Virtual Console does not yet have SNES titles available for it, only NES & Game Boy titles. Which is why the announcement of EarthBound is for WiiU VC and not 3DS VC.

Yoshi’s Island 3DS Announced

Yoshi's Island 3DS Gameplay Screenshot

YES! Looks the same but still awesome!

Yoshi’s Island DS is an all-new Yoshi game coming to 3DS! This game will retain everything fans know and love about Yoshi’s Island, including Yoshi’s Egg Drop and Throw ability, Flutter Jump, and familiar items to collect like Gold Coins, Red Coins and Flowers.

The game looked essentially the same as previous Yoshi’s Island games (SNES/GBA with the original Yoshi’s Island, N64 with Yoshi’s Story and DS with Yoshi’s Island DS), with the only difference being a slightly new look to the game.

More details will be learned at E3 2013 in June.
