Bible Verse of the Day – He Who Dwells In the Secret Place of the Most High Shall Remain Stable and Fixed Under the Shadow of the Almighty Whose Power No Foe Can Withstand – Psalm 91:1-2

Psalm 91 1 Matrix View He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall remain under the shadow of the Almighty whose power no foe can withstand

The Truth of Christ makes you like Neo. No foe can withstand the power of the Lord.

Psalm 91:1-2
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

This Bible verse from the Old Testament says it all. With God on your side, who can be against you? What foe can defeat the Creator? None. He is your fortress, your refuge, and the one who protects, provides and in whom you can trust.

Photo of the Day – Never Be Afraid To Trust An Unknown Future To A Known God By Holocaust Survivor Corrie Ten Boom

Never Be Afraid to Trust An Unknown Future To A Known God (Holocaust Survivor Corrie Ten Boom)“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God” – Corrie Ten Boom.

If you don’t know the story of Corrie Ten Boom, be sure to pick up the book “The Hiding Place” and learn about her amazing survival story during the Nazi Holocaust. As someone who has been through hell to an extent that we can not even fathom, this kind of faith will sure be a blessing to anyone who reads this quote.

If someone in her circumstances knows that God is in control, how can we, with our comfortable lives, deny it?

Bible Verse of the Day – Count It All As Joy When You Meet Trials and Tribulations, James 1:2-4 (New Testament)

Count it all as joy when you meet trails and tribulations (James 1:2-4).

An absolutely amazing photo. Joy comes from the heart, not from external circumstances.

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” – James 1:2-4

This is a truly amazing verse. It really boggles the mind when you think about how opposed to the natural order of things it is. Trials and Tribulations do not bring one joy, in the world. They bring suffering, complaining, bitching, if you will.

That is not how God would have us see things. Quite the opposite in fact. And that is what true maturity is.

Can Christians Embrace Horror? Scares, Thrills, Spills, Guts and Glory In Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dead Space And Others

The Cross Repels Evil

The Cross repels evil. In the end, good always triumphs over the hellspawns of the underworld.

Can Christians embrace horror? Videogames like Dead Space, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil feature scares, thrills, spills, guts and glory (quite literally) as they charge gamers with overcoming demonic abominations of the highest order, and surviving a world that’s gone to hell.

Personally, one of my favorite genres is Survival Horror, however like metal music, full of demonic imagery, skulls and bones, gore-fiends and moshpit-loving violence-craving thrill seekers, the genre is often interpreteted to be inherently Satanic.

And yet one who is in the genre or a heavy partaker of it, understands that glorifying the underworld and its manifestations of violence, blood, guts, blasphemy and filth; is not always the case for all bands who go the metal route. Beyond that, those listerns who love the headbanging world; are not always doing so as a full embrace of the antichrist-position that often spills from the mouths of secular metal bands.

Horror is much the same way, with the exception that most created horror IS not glorifying the light in any way… a notion that Christian metal bands convey to those willing to listen; while keeping the grotesque and violent motifs that are staples of the genre… only they twist it so it points to the Cross and away from the Pit.

It is hard to make that argument when discussing horror in either film or in gaming however.

But it is my belief that embracing horror videogames is not a full-out endorsement of what most of the games preach throughout the majority of the duration of said adventure through hellish imagery.

In fact, to write horror off as nothing but a pure act of grotesque blasphemy and filth with no redeeming factors, is to vastly oversimplify it. It is true that some horror does just that with no redeeming qualities, but NOT all of it. And that mindset does a disservice and writes off an entire complex genre made up of hundreds of thousands of different tales, characters, stories and worlds.

Like in the metal realm, there are plenty of smart, intelligent, horror-themed videogames that have many redeeming qualities. I believe horror and the desire to be scared can actually run parallel to the beliefs we as Christians hold. “As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”

Ultimately horror, in almost ALL cases, is about overcoming evil, savagery and blasphemous beings bent on delivering grotesque hell upon others. Beyond the striking and violent imagery, much like the Cross itself, is redemption and horrific stories of those who conquered the arms of death and lived to tell the tale.

Pyramid Head Represents Satan Artwork By Calisto Lynn

… Pyramid Head is an unforgettable Silent Hill character representing pure evil. Interpret it as Satan himself. Always there, constantly seeking whom he can devour.

In addition, a smartly told horror story, will intersperse many other elements that elevate it above a simple gore-fest. Silent Hill for example is a dive into psychological horror, where demonic sights and sounds unsettle the player, and try to suffocate you in fear. The story however is extremely deep, vastly open to interpretation, and is ultimately a tale of love, sacrifice, overcoming fear and triumphing over the evils of Hell… literally.

The opening of Silent Hill 2, for example, tells the tale of a man named James, who receives a letter from his wife. His deceased wife. In it she talks of their “special place”, a town called Silent Hill. He knows she is alive, dead people cannot write letters? Right? Read the rest of this entry »

Encouraging Quote of the Day – No Thing And No Person Can Make You Miserable Without Your Permission

Pure Joy Puppy

Now THIS puppy knows his victory in Christ! YEAH BABY YEAH!

“No thing and no person can make you miserable without your permission.” – Joyce Meyers

Remember that joy and happiness come from within. No one can take that from you. The Bible says to be joyful because of the victory that Christ has given you over death and the grave. No matter what happens in your life, you ultimately have the victory. Take control of your emotions and do not let your mind be miserable no matter the situation. Instead rejoice!

Encouraging Quote of the Day – When God Fills You, He’ll Fill Everything Around You. Your Heart, Your Life, Your Purse, Your Body. You’ll Lack Nothing And Be Made Whole

Love and God“When God fills you, He’ll fill everything and everyone around you. He’ll fill your life, your heart, your purse, your body. He’ll fill you until there is nothing lacking in your life and you are completely made whole.” – T.D. Jakes

Always remember that God filling your life full of His Love will not just effect you, but it will effect everyone and everything around you. Everything changes for the better. And will improve all aspects not only of YOUR life, but of those lives around you.

Encouraging Quote of the Day – Learn To Cast Your Cares, But Not Your Responsibility

Cast Your Cares On the Lord

Learn to cast your cares but not your responsibilities.

“Learn to cast your care, but not your responsibility. Too often we do just the opposite. (1 Pet. 5:6-7)” – Joyce Meyers

Jesus says to cast your cares and your burdens on Him. His yoke is easy and His burden is lite, meaning that He will not become a burden on you or add to your burden, but just the opposite.

However just because we are to cast our cares on God, that does not mean letting go of responsibility. God calls us to be responsible people in all things. However it takes effort to learn to cast your cares, while not casting your responsibility. Learn to do this however, and you will be much better off.

LifeQuote – Loose Lips Sink Ships

Loose Lips Sink Ships Girl Artwork

Be careful who you share information with, especially that innocent looking sexy girl!

Quote of the Day – “Loose Lips Sink Ships” is a phrase that I had never heard before, until my dad brought it up while reminiscing about an old construction job from his past.

I had never heard anything like it, and I think it is quite an amazing quote with all kinds of different ways to interpret it. And not only that, but it ties in Biblically with how God teaches us to live our lives…

The Bible explicitly speaks out about gossipers and how gossip and the love of it is ultimately corrupting and leads to all kinds of troubles. It causes rifts between people, and all around is a bad idea. Gossip is really the essence of this quote, which comes from the US Navy. The quote was used to keep soldiers from running their mouth about what unit they were in, what ship they were on, what mission they were doing, who their commanders were, etc. Why?

Because if they weren’t careful, the enemy would pick up on these loose rumors via spies or moles, etc., and if they weren’t careful they’d find their position compromised and their ship sunk.

Thus the phrase, “Loose Lips Sink Ships”. But I think it is a wise motto for life as well. Running your mouth is not generally a positive thing to do, and the Bible talks a lot about holding ones tongue, and how idle talk is not productive. It also says the power of life and death is in the tongue…

I have another life motto that says, “Do not take unnecessary risks”. I use this motto to remind myself to take an extra step instead of cutting corners, which can cause accidents. I got the motto when I was lazily pulling out cords, without looking or even paying much attention to what I was doing… and three times in a row I got shocked. From then on, I told myself I would take the extra step to pay attention. And I use the quote to remind myself to not take unnecessary risks when they can be avoided by taking an extra step and not being lazy.

I think I’ll file “Loose Lips Sink Ships” right next to “Don’t Take Unnecessary Risks”. :)

On Death, Life, Dying and God. When It Looks Like Death Has Won, Remember Its A Lie. Love Lasts Forever, For God Is Love (Sermon of the Day T.D. Jakes At Whitney Houston’s Funeral Video)

Death Defeated. Jesus Rises Wallpaper

Death. Defeated. Jesus. Rises.

The Bible says that love is stronger than Death. But in the midst, throes and turmoil of losing a loved one, never forget that Jesus Christ died on the Cross, and took the sting out of Death.

When your loved one passes away, it will look like Death has won. But that’s a lie. Death has not won. For Love lasts forever. Love is stronger than death because God. IS. LOVE.

T.D. Jakes speaks this message at Whitney Houston’s funeral. If you haven’t heard it, take time to listen to his message and allow it to sink in. In just over five minutes this powerful man of God delivers the most eloquent funeral speech I’ve ever heard. Heartfelt, funny, gracious, moving, profound, uplifting. Perfect.

Do not allow death to sow seeds of bitterness, resentment, or even regret. We all will have regrets, of time lost, love lost… and memories and moments never to be redeemed again… But that is a lie. We WILL meet again in Heaven, and that time will be redeemed 100 fold. Remember that the Bible says our lifetime spent here on earth, even if it is 100 years or more, is as a wisp of smoke compared to our eternal life in the hereafter and beyond.

In but an eyeblink from God, 1000 earthly years pass by. Within an early second, our loved ones will be reunited with those who loved Jesus Christ and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven to be rejoined once again. Death is a destination… and death is the beginning of life. NOT THE END. Thus the death of a loved one is something to be celebrated.

Prayer Request: As my uncle Tom passes from this life into the next, please keep him and the family in your prayers. Pray that this brings the family closer than ever before, and that God prepares my uncle’s soul to enter Heaven, and embraces him with open arms. Thank you.

Death Is Dead Wallpaper

Death. Is. Dead.

Celebrate their life, celebrate their memory, and celebrate the reality of the afterlife in the loving wings of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and their creator, their Father God. For our lose is Heaven’s gain. And the gain they receive is beyond earthly measure or comprehension. We will join them soon enough, for life passes by in a blink. Make the best of it, and love people. For God is love, and nothing on this earth, not metal, stone or works of creativity, will pass with us. Nothing but our relationships, and those souls in which we have brought an eternal destiny.
