Resident Evil 6 Movie In Development. Release Date Is September 12 2014. May Be Final Paul W.S. Anderson Film In the Series. He Directs Once More. Milla Jovovich Returns As Alice. Sequel To Resident Evil Retribution.

Milla Jovovich Alice Resident Evil Retribution

She’s turned into quite the beloved videogame film character.

Resident Evil 6 movie?! That’s right, Paul W.S. Anderson is back to direct a Resident Evil 6 film for release on September 12 2014, with Milla Jovovich returning as Alice. The film will be a direct-sequel to Resident Evil: Retribution and may be the final film in the current Paul Anderson film series.

Here is a trailer for the Resident Evil: Retribution film (RE5).

The original 2002 Resident Evil film starred Milla Jovovich as Alice, and she has returned to reprise her role in each subsequent film, including Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004), Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) and Resident Evil: Retribution (2012). Like those films, this film will mix all-new elements and characters with elements lifted from the videogames… Which began to incorporate more Resident Evil staple characters (including Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker) starting with the RE2 film (Apocalypse) which featured Nemesis from Resident Evil 3. Other movies have featured everything from the Crows, Zombie Dogs (Cerberus) and Lickers, to the scythe wielding enemy (The Executioner) from Resident Evil 5.

That means that we can expect the Resident Evil 6 film to incorporate elements from the Resident Evil 6 game into the film. Resident Evil 6 will also be shot in 3D, just like Afterlife and Retribution before it.

While the Resident Evil films have been panned by critics and dissed by many fans of the videogame series, the films have been a success at the box-office and on home-video, and have really helped establish the Resident Evil franchise as even more of a powerhouse series (despite the Razzie Award nominations the film franchise has been given for bad acting and the like). The Resident Evil brand is more well known now thanks to these films, and they have an audience of fans (like my dad) who really enjoys them.

For fans of the games, they are not what we would like to see… So I hope that Resident Evil 6 will be the final film by Anderson and we can get a film that is more faithful to Resident Evil remake or Resident Evil 4 in feel and tone….

Anderson has a number of other projects in the works, including a possible film adaptation of Castlevania and a disaster movie called Pompeii in which he’s directing (based on the famous Mount Vesuvius eruption that destroyed an entire city way back in AD79).

Personally I really enjoyed Afterlife, and I thought it was a cool action film. Apocalypse was my favorite before that, I prefer the action to Anderson’s (sad) take on horror, so the first film and Resident Evil Extinction absolutely sucked in my opinion. Btw Retribution grossed over $220 million worldwide, so you can see why Screen Gems wants to continue making these films.

Videogame Photo of the Day – Mewtwo Is Deep Pokemon First Movie Quote: I See Now That the Circumstances of One’s Birth Are Irrelevant. It Is What You Do With the Gift of Life That Determines Who You Are

Mewtwo Is Deep Pokemon First Movie Quote

So. Deep.

Mewtwo is deep! Pokemon the First Movie Quote: I see now that the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Anyone who remembers seeing Pokemon the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back in movie theaters when it came out (as I did) will remember well this quote and how absolutely awesome the movie was. It really does get into some deep themes that people forget about; especially for a kid’s film.

Man… I need to watch that movie again! I had an old VHS tape of the film where the sound was in mono, making Mewtwo’s voice normal sounding instead of “distant” as in the actual film. It was WAY better that way!

Here is a trailer for Pokemon the First Movie!

Such a classic. And awesome. Scene.

And we got to see that visually, on steroids, in The Matrix Reloaded, when he not only dodged a few bullets, but stopped hundreds of them in their tracks! SO. AWESOME. The Matrix Trilogy remains among my top favorite films of all time!

Movie Review: The Amazing Spider-Man. Spidey Gets A Gritty Makeover And Swings Back Into Our Hearts

The Amazing Spider-Man Wallpaper Andrew Garfield Maskless

Andrew Garfield is an outstanding Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man absolutely 100% redeems the franchise and will give faith to anyone who had a bit of a bitter taste in their mouth following the conclusion of the previous Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy of the 2000s.

How so? The Amazing Spider-Man is spectacularly epic and surprisingly gritty, which is just what the doctor ordered.

The new actor who plays Spider-Man is fantastic. While I was a fan of Tobey Macquire and his portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man (often defending him against naysayers), Andrew Garfield in his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, gives a new flair and toughness to the part that Peter seemed to lack in the previous trilogy. He also doesn’t have an annoying voice, which you can’t really fault a guy for, but it did make Tobey’s portrayal a bit tougher to swallow in my opinion.

Tobey McGuire vs Andrew Garfield Spider-Man Without Mask Comparison

Who do you prefer? Toby or Andrew? I think they are both great.

Andrew has a lankier look that fits well with the athletic build you’d expect from Spider-Man, and while Andrew is much less nerdy than Tobey McGuire, he can still come off as a bit dorky. Even so, he is a much cooler portrayal overall and the whole nerd concept is somewhat lost. Having said that, it’s not a big deal and Andrew competently fills the role nicely.

The movie has a very nice buildup to the events of gaining his powers, and everything has been amped up in intensity. One area where this film really shines is in the intensity of feeling that Andrew provides to Spider-Man. The death of a central character is portrayed brilliantly by Andrew, whose raw emotion shakes you to the core. Throughout the film Andrew is a very emotional guy, but he has a certain rawness to him that really shines. I was taken aback by the overall grittyness of the film. The pacing overall is outstanding. With a perfectly-paced buildup and a re-imagining of how Parker becomes the webbed wallcrawler that is very entertaining to watch.

Andrew Garfield As Amazing Spider-Man No Mask Cuts

Andrew Garfield fits very well as Spider-Man. And looks great in costume.

Especially as Peter starts to change and morphs into a much darker personality, almost resembling a drug addict in appearence and demeanor, sending shockwaves to his family.

The Lizard is the primary villain this time around, and I highly enjoyed the portrayal of him in this film, I think it was an excellent choice. Even though his look is a bit strange, it still works well. He has a kind of, dinosaur, raptor-like feel to him that I really like. And there is lots of story exposition as we witness Dr. Connor’s change into the reptilian monster of the comics. It’s done extremely well.

The action scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man are terrific. There is one scene in particular where Spider-Man essentially becomes Neo from The Matrix, those who’ve seen the film will know what scene I’m talking about, and it’s a really awesome one that’s just jaw-dropping in it’s coolness. I love the way Spider-Man fights in this movie, in particular the scene at the end.

The way that Andrew wisecracks of Spider-Man is also done brilliantly, and that is where Andrew really nails a homerun in his portrayal of Spider-Man. I had no idea what to expect from Andrew going in, but once I saw the cop-car scene, I was a new convert.

The Lizard Roars Growls Amazing Spider-Man Movie Screenshot

The Lizard is a great villain, and done well in the film.

All of the characters in the movie fit perfectly. Emma Stone plays Gwen Stacy and she is as cute as can be, while also being very smart and capable herself. The romance that buds between them is very natural, and I love the scene when Parker first asks her out at the school. The acting is just so well done by everyone, including Gwen’s father who is a captain in the police department, which makes an interesting dynamic, as he is out hunting the masked fugitive, while Parker is falling for his daughter.

There are a lot of really neat web-swinging scenes (the reintroduction of webshooters was also a really cool touch, Spidery no longer shoots them out of his forearms like in Sam Raimi’s trilogy), and in particular the section where Peter is riding on his skateboard and swinging on chains, is so awesome and well done, you’ll be wanting to get up and cheer after watching it, and this film has many of those scenes that get your heart aflutter.

Emma Stone Is Gorgeous Spider-Man Scene

I want to have Emma Stone’s baby. Er, wait a tick…

Overall however, The Amazing Spider-man movie feels somewhat less “epic” than previous movies, in particular, Dr. Octopus made for a much cooler villain in Spider-Man 2, and this film doesn’t approach that level of sheer awe in the slightest. That is one thing that is missing from The Amazing Spider-Man, while it feels epic, it is not as magnificent… I think it’s just the subject matter of The Lizard though, who you can only do so much with.

I think The Amazing Spider-Man laid down some amazing groundwork, and I can’t wait for the next two films in this new trilogy.

The Amazing Spider-Man was also critically acclaimed, and broke all kinds of records upon its release, including becoming the 44th highest-grossing film of all time and the fifth highest-grossing film of the year (The Avengers is #1 with $1 billion, $500 million dollars ($1,511,757,910). The Dark Knight Rises is #2 with $1 billion, $080 million ($1,080,955,119). Ice Age: Continental Drift is #3 with $874 million ($874,858,992). 007: Skyfall is #4 with $800 million ($800,262,078), The Amazing Spider-Man is #5 with $752 million ($752,216,557). Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is #6 with $740 million ($740,491,482), The Hunger Games is #7 with $686 million ($686,533,290), Men In Black 3 is #8 with $624 million ($624,026,776), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is #9 with $602 million ($602,682,504) and Disney Pixar’s Brave is #10 with $535 million ($535,074,220))

I also saw The Amazing Spider-Man during the Midnight Premier, and boy am I glad I did! A very deserving movie, watch it!

Movie Review: Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s Alien Prequel. Trailer Video and Screenshots

Prometheus Wallpaper Elizabeth Shaw and Crew. Giant Head Screenshot From Movie

The design elements seen throughout Prometheus’ alien world are fascinating.

This movie review of Prometheus takes a look at Ridley Scott’s very interesting prequel to the Alien quadrilogy (1979s Alien, 1986s Aliens, 1992s Alien 3 and 1997s Alien Resurrection).

I did not know anything about Prometheus going in, other than the fact that the film is a prequel. I found it quite fascinating. The film is a bonafide thriller all the way through, a horror film whose aesthetics are similar to that of the original Alien. It’s a really smart film, first and foremost, and the characters are a lot more likeable than they were in the original Alien and Aliens IMHO, generally avoiding the whole military, tough-guy stereotypes that I so hate.

Prometheus Ship In Space Movie Screenshot

This movie deals a lot more directly with outer space than previous films.

This movie really nails the feel that one would expect from an Alien film helmed by Scott, while taking the story in interesting directions that raise questions and make one ponder about the purpose of life, the power of faith, the reason for existence and the origin of intelligence.

The fact that the main character (Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw) has faith that the others don’t, and that her strength and resolve, as well as will to live, is powered by her faith (a key symbol in the film is a cross necklace she carries with her) is powerful and an interesting plot device given the general Darwinian “truths” that pervade the film, it’s characters and most of its message. As such the main character stands in stark contrast and that dichotomy certainly works to the film’s benefit; even though a belieF in Jesus Christ or the Christian God is not outright stated. It is however implied, given that the Cross is her refuge. As a Christian myself, this was a breath of fresh air and very interesting all told, given the story new weight that it wouldn’t carry otherwise.

Promotheus also fills in gaps from previous movies and really takes the backstory further, all-out showing the true origin of the Alien species as well as other species of lifeforms that were only hinted at in previous films. I’m not an expert on the Alien mythology so I’m not at liberty to go into details on said backstory, even so I found the films plot and mythos satisfying.

Prometheus Beautiful Girl Charlize Theron As Meredith Vickers Screenshot

The absolutely gorgeous Charlize Theron as Meredith Vickers.

It was extremely fascinating to see the new story threads and the way the film explained the age-old-question of where we come from and what our purpose is, as well, while also showing the race of beings that were only hinted at in the original Alien… even the throne! And that’s all I’ll say to avoid spoilers.

This viewpoint of a true alien world and alien race is awesome, and really well done, even if that race is not nearly as badass, unique or terrifying as the actual aliens themselves. While that proves to be a slight disappointment, the film overall is great and I highly enjoyed it.

Sigourney Weaver-like Shaw. Prometheus Cute Girl Screenshot

Shaw who is like the new Sigourney Weaver is a hottie! And fills Ripley’s shoes nicely.

There are several standout scenes as well, and lots of inter-character drama that really attaches one to the main characters and you really fall in love with them because of it. This is something that the original Alien quadrilogy failed at in my humble opinion, and thus this film is a nice change of pace and improvement from what is to be expected.

I highly recommend Prometheus, even if you don’t know the backstory of the Alien films or haven’t seen them, I still recommend this film as a great horror flick. It is less bloody and violent overall than previous films in the franchise, although it does feature one quick scene of some people vomiting (thankfully it doesn’t really show it, and it’s brief) and a few scenes that are violent, but they are short and it is not overly grotesque.

The film overall is more focused on a tense atmosphere, and is slower-paced with terrific special effects and some neat gadgets. Nothing is quite as brutal as Bishop getting torn in half in Aliens, although there is a medical scene that comes close and may cause some to squirm, but overall I was actually surprised that the film was not more violent than it is. It certainly is no where near the violence and gore seen in a lot of modern horror films, much to my relief.

Prometheus Alien Death Screenshot

Be prepared to be scared. Enter the world of Prometheus.

The film also deals with space in a more direct manner than previous Alien films, and one scene in particularly is extraordinary and really cool. The special effects in the movie are great throughout, and the acting is extremely impressive. Especially for a sci-fi film. The new heroine does an amazing job at filling Sigourney Weaver’s shoes, I must say, and she even looks like Weaver! :O

Prometheus is also the type of film that you’ll want to watch more than once. As I stated previous, it’s very smart and gives the viewer more than they can take in with a single viewing.

Overall, Prometheus is a great film. Watch it!

Movie Review: Warhorse By Steven Spielberg

Warhorse Wallpaper (Movie)

The majestic War Horse in an amazing scene.

Warhorse was a really good movie. It’s not the type of film I thought I’d like, but I decided to watch it anyway with my folks. Glad I did. The movie has a magical, majestic, sweeping score and great cinematography with absolutely beautiful scenery throughout, that is a true feast for the eyes. The film reminds you of classic films of old in the way it’s shot and put together, but a modern version, especially the first half. Not that I’m well versed in classic films, but that’s the vibe I got. The cinematography throughout is amazing.

The story is extremely touching and heart-warming, as well as heart-wrenching. The movie has a great story hook that I was not expecting. I won’t say what it is because I don’t want to spoil it. If you don’t know anything about the film going in (always the best way to see a film, in fact don’t even watch the trailer on this page), you’ll be thoroughly entertained and amazed at how well they pull it off. I knew nothing about Warhorse except what can be gleaned from the title. The characters also really grow on you and it’s got great character development. A necessity in great films. Even more than that, the story feels grand, and they pull it off with perfection.

All in all it was an excellent movie: great acting, touching moments, sweeping music, awesome battle scenes, and a very interesting, twisting narrative that is quite unique. I highly recommend it! It’s a Steven Spielberg film, I should add. I will say that the accents of the main characters in the beginning of the film bothered me and can make it hard to understand what they are saying (I’d like to watch it again with subtitles), the start is also somewhat hokey, kind of how you picture a Disney movie where every situation ends in a too-triumphant grand sweep of epic music and happy people with big smiles. But the film transitions out of that state at just the right time, so it’s a minor quibble.

Romney Fett and Frozen Carbonite Obama in Glenn Beck Star Wars Spoof

Romney Fett And Carbonite Obama Star Wars Glenn Beck Parody

Hahahaha. So. Awesome.

Carbonite Obama and Romney Fett? Glenn Beck Star Wars? AWESOME.

This ingenious idea is the brainchild of Glenn Beck, who revealed some new props for his ever-expanding and insanely awesome studio from which he runs his shows and works on The Blaze and Glenn Beck TV (GBTV).

You can infer whatever you want to infer from “what it means”, but ultimately it is simply Glenn Beck having fun like only he can. There is a reason he is so popular, one of which is that he is such a funny, passionate and charismatic individual. The ironic part is that people would be laughing their heads off if this were a late-night skit. But because the subject is Obama and the comedian is Beck, he’ll probably just be attacked for it. But that’s alright. Go Glenn Go!
