Lost Planet 3’s release date is now August 27, 2013, a delay of two months for Capcom’s major third installment in the mildly popular Lost Planet third-person shooter series for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It will hit on August 30th in Europe.
The latest chapter in the Lost Planet series/ The extreme and unpredictable conditions that characterized the Lost Planet series return, harsher than ever before. Lost Planet 3 reveals new truths about the foreboding planet and the colonial history of E.D.N. III. Lost Planet 3 introduces Jim, a rig pilot who leaves Earth to take on a hazardous but lucrative contract on E.D.N. III. Working for Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) who are preparing the planet for colonization, Jim joins his fellow pioneers at the Coronis base and begins surveying the uncharted terrain and obtaining samples of the planet’s energy supply – Thermal Energy.
With NEVEC’s existing Thermal Energy reserve running low the fate of the Coronis mission depends on the natural source of the energy supply being located. Realizing that this is a great opportunity for a huge pay-off and early ticket home to his family, Jim braves the risk of the treacherous environment and threat of the indigenous Akrid. Acting as a home away from home and boasting an array of tools that can assist Jim on the field, the utility rig provides Jim’s safety and is essential for not only his contract work but also his protection against the ever-changing climate.
Lost Planet 3 will deliver a diverse range of gameplay including on-foot battles and intense first person action. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience, Lost Planet 3 will delve deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths within the unique and dynamic environment of E.D.N. III.
Here is 10 minutes of gameplay footage from Lost Planet 3.
Key Features of Lost Planet 3:
* Return to extreme conditions – Taking the series back to its roots Lost Planet 3 returns to E.D.N. III, delivering a dynamic battle field that’s more dangerous than ever before with an ever changing climate that will affect the way you play. * Brave the terrifying – Play as blue collar worker Jim, risking assignments in treacherous conditions to earn his hazard pay and return home to his family. * Home away from home – Protect yourself from hostile Akrid and the unpredictable ice storms on E.D.N. III with your utility rig. Equipped with an assortment of tools you’ll need to learn to use the rig to your advantage in order to survive. * Gameplay Variety – Offering a mix of first person combat in the rig and third person gunplay on foot. * Intense, cinematic experience -Developed with the Unreal Engine 3, Lost Planet 3 presents a visually stunning and unique terrain that impacts the gameplay.
I never got around to playing the original Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, except for a short period. I really liked what I played, and I’ve always meant to get back to it one of these days. I did play Part 2 and didn’t care for it too much either, but i’m not much of a multiplayer gamer. Even so, I’m looking forward to Lost Planet 3. It’ll be interesting to see whether the third-time’s-the-charm for this series, and whether or not this will be the game that breaks it into major AAA territory which it hasn’t quite been able to obtain, IMHO, yet.
WatchMePlay Fire Emblem Awakening 3DS Let’s Play Part 6.
In this video we finish the snow mission and then we tackle our first side-quest “Sickle to Sword” which involves a young farmer boy named Donnel (whose name I can never remember, constantly calling him “Donner”. I also like to call him “Donny”), whom we have to save along with his mom from some bandits. However this proves to be very tough… Read the rest of this entry »
Retro Nintendo Reviews is a very cool website that focuses exclusively on reviewing some of the biggest hits, and little-known gems, for Nintendo’s systems of yesteryear. Be them NES, SNES, or N64 games, etc.
This is a really cool website that you definitely should check out. Of course, I’m a Nintendo fanboy so this type of thing really tugs on my heartstrings, but the concept is really cool and the reviews are definitely worth reading.
Here is a really cool and SUPER IMPRESSIVE video of the creator of the website playing through NES Contra and beating it WITHOUT DYING. It’s worth noting that this run is NOT done on an emulator, but on the real deal! That’s what I like to see! I am so TIRED and SICK of seeing everyone record everything on an emulator. There is no replacement for the real thing!
Will the PlayStation 4 legitimize Let’s Play youtube videos (Walkthroughs, WatchMePlay, clips, etc.) due to the system’s built-in “Sharing” feature and mainstream focus on recording video of your gameplay footage?
I think it will. There was a time where Let’s Play’s on youtube straddled the line between what was legal and what was illegal (or at least, frowned upon) to do. Even today, publisher’s can request that Let’s Plays be taken offline by google (who owns youtube) and it’s hard to argue against the game companies and publishers when their position points to the fact that showing others the entire game violates their copyright.
That’s a perfectly understandable position. However, as youtube has grown and videos of videogames and videos of people playing videogames have increased and reached near mainstream status, at the very least normalcy, it has become more and more accepted and less likely that game companies will request that your Let’s Play’s be taken offline. As long as they are not released during the early embargo period issued for said game or show say, that game’s ending.
I believe the fact that the PS4 is focusing so heavily on integrating user-made recorded videos and Let’s Plays of videogames directly into the system, and making it very easy for even a casual gamer to upload their gameplay footage and create videos with it and share them online; Will completely mainstream and legitimize Let’s Plays and user-created video walkthroughs of videogames.
Sony will literally be elevating Let’s Plays to it’s proper place as a true way to increase the awareness of their games which in turn increases the marketing and promotion and encourages others to pick the game up (increasing the community and hype for said games). Let’s Plays already serve that purpose for many gamers who cannot (yet) afford game but will live vicariously through others who have played the game as they anxiously await and count down the days until they too can dive into it themselves.
I think this is an extremely smart play by Sony and could be a real game changer in the videogame scene. Because Sony has publicly and majorly endorsed Let’s Plays as part of videogame culture, it will become much harder for videogame companies and copyright holders to argue that these Let’s Plays, video walkthroughs, clips of gaming moments and other user-created videos using their videogame products, is somehow a violation of their rights or copyright to the game. Especially if sales of PS4 games remain high. At that point, it will be nearly impossible to argue that Let’s Plays hurt sales.
In fact, and I believe that argument has already been won, it will be ridiculous to argue that people won’t still buy videogames just because they can view a video that someone else made of the entire game online.
As gamers themselves can already attest to, watching a friend, roommate, sibling, family member or stranger play through a videogame, is NOT the same as playing through the game yourself. Games take a certain amount of user-control, and every gamer will play the game slighly differently. The experience of watching someone play and playing yourself, is akin to the difference between the interactive nature of videogames compared to movies. Passive entertainment versus interactive entertainment.
I applaud Sony and I am glad that they are taking this step to legitimze and popularize Let’s Plays.
I only hope that Microsoft, Nintendo and other videogame companies (like Valve or Good Old Games/Gog.com) follow suit. And I have faith that they, eventually and soon, will.
Real-life playing cards created out of ACTUAL wood! This is not the fake stuff, this is the REAL deal. Real wood. Not only that, but the Cards actually shuffle! You can bend them and use them to play any Card game that exists! Like their previous projects, these cards are made of the highest quality materials, infused with mineral oils to keep them soft and smelling amazing, and laser-etched on real-world material so that no two cards are exactly the same!
While these cards are amazing and great for display and “flash”, they are still real playing cards and are suitable for friendly card games, shuffling, house building, card tossing, and many other activities. They are also surprisingly durable!
Gorgeous!
To quote myself in an email to the company: “The one thing I might add, although I don’t know if this is going into it or not, as I didn’t see it mentioned, but if these are scented like the deck you sent me with that oil, then you MUST mention and emphasize it! That smell…. Oh man. It’s like heaven. It’s like opening a new book or a new videogame for the first time. The smell simply must be experienced and cannot be properly conveyed through video or pictures! So please talk about it! Even without the smell, I think you should emphasize texture a bit more as well. Talk about how amazing these cards FEEL in the hands. It truly is unique. Everyone I showed the cards too was enthralled and wanting to touch and smell and bend them. It just has such a cool texture that’s so unique and feels like nothing else.”
Let me tell you, I was sent a prototype copy of these Hardwood Playing Cards (before they even had themes!) and I and everyone I showed them too was completely enthralled! They are so impressive, and when you get them in your hands you can’t help but be amazed. Have YOU ever played with cards made of real wood? The answer is NO! lol.
To that end, you owe it to yourself to check out this amazing project and please BACK IT!
Durable, bendable and playable!
“At Bibelot Games, we love taking games to “the next level”. Better formats, better materials, better entertainment. With this project, we’re doing the same for playing cards! We’re discarding the plastic and paper, and making beautiful and luxurious playing card decks from real hardwoods. They’re thin enough to shuffle, thick enough to cherish, and unique enough to know it’s real wood!”
These cards are created using super thin veneers, composed of three layers, including laser etched Okoume hardwood fronts, themed hardwood for the back, and an acrylic core binding them together. Each card measures 2.5″ wide x 3.5″ tall x 0.04″ thick and shows off the natural beauty of real hardwood, imperfections and all. These are not a “printed woodgrain pattern”! Because it’s actual, real, natural wood, the blank backs of the cards are free to show off the unique patterns, markings and coloration of each card; giving you true depth and tactical bliss with each piece.
The are SIX themed decks, each with completely unique artwork! In addition, each deck sold through Kickstarter will be a limited edition, individually numbered on the speciality Ace Card, based on Backer Number. Meaning the first people to support the project will get the earliest, lower numbers!
All decks except the Tarot come with a real leather “tuck box” to keep your cards fresh and stored. The cases are also laser-etched with visually appealing grommets, magnetic snaps and a belt loop for easy portability! Each Collector’s Set meanwhile comes in a laser-etched wooden box to store your cards and display them to impressed on-lookers! :D
You can completely customize and build the deck you want, and there are four different deck sizes of playing cards to choose from (“By doing our own manufacturing, one deck at a time, we can build any combination of theme and deck size so you can get the cards that are perfect for you!”). You can either choose a: 25 Card Deck, 34 Card Deck, 50 Card Deck, 54 Card Deck or 78 Card Deck!
I WANT ALL OF THEM!!!!
So what are the six themes? Here is what each one contains: 1. Classic Theme – The classic suits and royalty you know and love! The backs are Maple, a truly classic hardwood. 2. Reliquary Theme – Features artwork from the “Master of the Playing Cards” ca. 1430. German suits and Cherry backs tie this theme into the collection of ancient games that got us started! 3. Midnight Theme – A horror-themed deck featuring Walnut backs, spooky suits, and campy monsters; all about the lighter side of Halloween! 4. Piratical Theme – Highlights charming rapscallions and buccaneers with nautical suits and African Mahogany backs! 5. Outlaw Theme – White Oak backs, thematic suits, and comically endearing gunslingers to bring the wild west to your card games! 6. Reindeer Games Theme – Celebrate Christmas any time of the year! This theme brings the joy of the holidays to your card table through adorable comic reindeer, themed suits and Ash hardwood backs!

In this new series, I will post the things I am reading (articles, news) and watching (youtube, politics, etc.) in an article each day. I will leave it open and add to it as I go about my day and update it for the site with new content.
In that way you can see exactly the type of things I am reading or watching and join in if you want. There is no rhyme and reason, it will simply be the things I’ve looked at that day. These articles will essentially replace my Good Reads site page. Enjoy.
April 2013 represents a renewed focus for this site.
WatchUsPlayGames will be shifting into a new focus for April 2013. Quantity and formula’s are out, quality and less updates are in.
As you’ve noticed, all of last month and throughout the previous months essentially since the new year, I’ve been posting a formula of articles that were scheduled ahead of time, one a day for each month. For March I was able to get that up to three articles per day, sometimes more, in the form of a “Song of the Day”, “Photo of the Day”, “Review of the Day” (essentially) and sometimes a “Let’s Play/WatchMePlayGames video of the day”.
Now I will be trying to shift my focus from less of a formula to more quality posts. However I still want to post at least one article a day, so I may do so with a formulaic article, such as the “Videogame Photo of the Day”, but we’ll see. One idea may be to try and combine these formula’s into only one article… so that you get a photo, song, video or whatever in one post. Not sure if that would work though.
All in all, I want to focus more on quality and less on numbers, and more on marketing and promotion and less on frivolous posts and time spent writing them. I also may start posting Let’s Plays from youtubers. Something I had originally intended to do when I started this site (thus the name), but haven’t done so due to wanting to keep the focus on MY Let’s Play articles instead of that of others.
However I think I will try to do both (i.e., post my Let’s Plays as well as highlight the Let’s Plays of others)… So we will see where this leads. But I’m going to make a push to change things up around here and hopefully create more of an identity for myself and the site as a whole, bring in new readers through promotion and marketing, and focus more on quality posts than quantity.
I should also mention a few new developments. I’m going to make a bigger push for posting more of my own video content, including a “Let’s Read” series where I will read a book aloud, and a videogame unboxing series where I will unbox classic videogames. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but I’ve yet to get around to it.
In addition to all this, I’m going to really strive in April to find out a way to make simple but effective updates to the look of the site and site features, while also focus on researching new ways to improve the site (I’m still quite the newb).
And finally, this needs to be the month where I get ads placed on the site. I just gotta find a way to earn the money for that latter one first so I can update my WordPress to the paid version. And that money may have to come through selling some of my videogames. Boo. But I need the income and if I can generate it on the site through ads, that will be a huge incentive to really get things going and boost my morale for updating the site.
Closing out DC Talk Month are Songs of the Day “There Is A Treason At Sea” from their 1998 album Supernatural and Things of This World from their 1990 album “Nu Thang”. There Is A Treason At Sea is track #14 of 14. Meanwhile Things of This World is track #6 of 11 from their 1990 album “Nu Thang”.
“There Is A Treason At Sea” is an epic spoken-word poem that caps off the Supernatural album epicly. It is an amazing contemporary poem, an amazing metaphor of life and the reality that God is the only one whom is ultimately in control. As such, “There Is A Treason At Sea” is a perfectly fitting close out to DC Talk Month! I hope you enjoyed!
There Is A Treason At Sea DC Talk Song Lyrics
I am solo in this world of water
Only the tip of a sunrise visible
Like the morning light in a little girl’s eyes
I crave this freedom
I find it only in this little ship
Just my soul and its bread and butter
I am comfortable
But there is a reason at sea
Is it me?
It is a wonder, supernatural cover of war
The dark ones who eternal in damnation grow
Set about me now
How they whine and crow
I am solo
In this world of wet
And bitter is my temperament
I close the door to sentiment
And I relish all my youth
I realize that I am doomed
Fear of love and fear of You
But You give me the keys to Paradise
It is You who sympathize
You and Your perfection grow
I am cradled in Your ocean’s throw
I crave your freedom, in this little ship
For You alone can chart my trip
And like these waves, I lose my grip
And I sink into Your arms

And closing out DC Talk Month for good is “Things Of This World”. This song is the only part of DC Talk Month hailing from DC Talk’s pre-Free At Last days. This song comes courtesy of the bands 2nd album from 1990 called “Nu Thang” (An album that was preceded by DC Talk’s debut self-titled album in 1989).
The reason I didn’t include much from Nu Thang or self-titled was due to the fact that I am unfamiliar with DC Talk’s material pre-Free At Last, which was the first album I got when I was a kid. For some reason or other I never sought out their previous material. I’ll have to do that now, as I just discovered this INCREDIBLE Nu Thang track called “Things Of This World”.
Just like “Treason At Sea”, Things of This World plays out like a highly intellectual poem that will get you thinking… even though it is, technically, a rap track. It sounds unlike anything else from DC Talk, and is proof once again at how great of a band they were. Enjoy! And hopefully you’ll now be familiar with one of the greatest Christian bands of all time.
Things of This World DC Talk Song Lyrics:
Seventy years is all we got
To accumulate goods that seem to mean a lot
For the first twenty years, you’re off to school
Learnin’ principles and learnin’ the tools
To make lots of money, the ultimate goal
Gain the whole world and yet lose ya soul
Huh, humanism is on a roll
Twenty gets the the knowledge, thirty years to apply
And just twenty years left for askin’ why
I didn’t realize what it was all about
And, was there any use in this rigorous rout because
Things of this world are passin’ away
Here tomorrow, but they’re sure not here to stay
Things of this world are passin’ away
So lay your treasure above
And start to live for Him today
All done for self in this world will pass
And all done for Christ in this world will last
Sounds like a simple task
But everyday life seems to get in the way
No time to serve, barely time to pray
Our focal points lost and we get tossed
In the wind, cold facin’ the cost
Of fallin’ without stallin’ or even callin’ the Lord
While you were blackballin’
He was waitin’ for you to see the light
And find for yourself, these things are trite
Things of this world are passin’ away
Here tomorrow, but they’re sure not here to stay
Things of this world are passin’ away
So lay your treasure above
And start to live for Him today
Our mind transforms a want to a need
A simple process that we call greed
Ya say ya like to have money, well I do too
The problem starts when the money has you
Workin’ overtime to keep up with the pace
A lifestyle that you want to embrace
But it’s two steps from where your needs are met
You’re keepin’ up with the Jones’, but your all in debt
Which will lead to stress, not meeting the bills
While ya sportin’ a Benz with all the thrills
The domino effect’s gotcha life in check
A temporary stitch and ya livin’ a wreck
Things of this world are passin’ away
Here tomorrow, but they’re sure not here to stay
Things of this world are passin’ away
So lay your treasure above
And start to live for Him today
Things of this world are passin’ away
Here tomorrow, but they’re sure not here to stay
Things of this world are passin’ away
So lay your treasure above
And start to live for Him today
Things of this world are passin’ away
Here tomorrow, but they’re sure not here to stay
Things of this world, the things of this world
The things, the things, the things of this world
Don’t lay up your treasures upon this Earth
They’ll soon pass away and all return to dirt
Don’t lay up your treasures upon this Earth
They’ll soon pass away and all return to dirt
Don’t lay up your treasures upon this Earth
They’ll soon pass away and all return to dirt

For those wondering where the DC Talk guys are now, here is what they’ve been up to.
Kevin Max is now the lead singer for Christian rock band veterans Audio Adrenaline (as of 2012) and Michael Tait (the black guy) is now the lead singer for Australian Christian rock titans Newsboys (as of 2009). Finally, Tobymac founded his own record label known as “Gotee Records” and has remained an influential record producer in the Christian music scene to this day.
All three also released their own solo albums. These include: “Empty” (2001) and “Lose This Life” (2003) from Tait (he was also working on a third album called “Loveology” in 2007 but it never came out); “Stereotype Be” (2001), “Between the Fence and the Universe” (2004 EP), “The Imposter” (2005), “Holy Night” (Christmas Album 2005), “The Blood” (2007, which featured DC Talk returning as a group singing the Prince song cover “The Cross”) and “Crashing Gates” (2009 EP) from Kevin Max; Meanwhile TobyMac was also extremely busy and released “Momentum” (2001), “Welcome To Diverse City” (2004. Featured DC Talk returning to sing “Atmosphere”), “Portable Sounds” (2007), “Alive And Transported” (2008), “Tonight” (2010) and “Eye On It” (2012. Only the third Christian album ever to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and the first since 1997). So DC Talk may be only but a memory, but the guys are still alive and well!
About DC Talk Month
March 2013 is dedicated to the Christian rock pioneers DC Talk, arguably my favorite Christian CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) rock band and follows January 2013 which was Demon Hunter Month and February 2013 which was Becoming the Archetype Month. March will feature songs from most of dc Talk’s discography (1992’s Free At Last, 1995’s Jesus Freak, 1998’s Supernatural and 2000’s Intermission) featured daily throughout the month, one a day. Whether you like rock/alternative/hip-hop music, believe in God or not, check these songs out as you may be pleasantly surprised and hopefully you will discover some new-to-your-ears music to enjoy. DC Talk features lots of variety in their tunes, from hard rock to hip-hop to slow ballads that will pull on your heartstrings to singable power pop, so there will most certainly be something you’ll like. Nintendo Last supper story artwork wallpaper! (Smash Brawl) This cool piece of art tells The Last Supper Nintendo-style!
Like the last videogame last supper art that I posted, this one is just as good, if not better. I love the artwork here, it’s very well done. And I like the inclusion of non-Nintendo (though Super Smash Bros. Brawl) characters like Solid Snake and Sonic.
For comparison’s sake, here is Da Vinci’s famous The Last Supper Painting of Jesus and His Disciples.
