Mitt Romney Billy Graham Meet October 11 2012

….. 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney meets with evangelists Billy Graham and Franklin.

Mitt Romney met Evangelist Billy Graham and his son, evangelist Franklin Graham, for the first time on October 11th 2012 for over half an hour.

Here is part of what Billy Graham said about Christians standing beside Mitt Romney and giving him their vote:

“What impresses me even more than Governor Romney’s successful career are his values and strong moral convictions. I appreciate his faithful commitment to his impressive family, particularly his wife Ann of 43 years and his five married sons.”

“It was a privilege to pray with Governor Romney—for his family and our country. I will turn 94 the day after the upcoming election, and I believe America is at a crossroads. I hope millions of Americans will join me in praying for our nation and to vote for candidates who will support the biblical definition of marriage, protect the sanctity of life and defend our religious freedoms.”

Billy Graham met with President Obama in 2010 and with President Bush on several occasions, as he has with all previous Presidents and President-elects. Here is a video of former President George W. Bush talking about one of his meetings with Billy Graham.

The two discussed many issues, and Billy Graham fully endorsed Mitt Romney, encouraging all Christians and Evangelicals to vote for him despite the differences that mainstream Christians have with Mormonism, on the grounds of their deep convictions on religious freedom, traditional marriage and pro-life issues among others that the two differing faiths share.

Billy Graham even prayed with Mitt Romney, as he has done with all Presidents and President-elects for the United States, as such a powerful Christian figure in American history.

Here is Romney’s 2007 “landmark speech” on religion and his Mormon faith given ahead of the Republican Primaries in 2008 in which John McCain was ultimately chosen as the nominee. Romney would get that nod four years later in 2012.
