Metal Songs of the Day – The Flame That Guides Us Home + Not i (Demon Hunter Month. Lyrics Included) From The Triptych Album (2005)

The Flame That Guides Us Home + Not I by Demon Hunter are the first two opening songs from Demon Hunter’s titanic third full-length album, 2005’s The Triptych.

Carrying on with the double-attack theme are the first two opening songs from 2005’s epic third Demon Hunter album, “The Triptych”. Fans and metalheads alike thought it would be impossible to top 2004’s Summer of Darkness, Demon Hunter’s sophomore album, but the first two tracks from Triptych quickly dispelled that notion and shoved a dagger straight through the heart of anyone who questioned Demon Hunter’s pedigree or ability to top the untoppable. “The Flame That Guides Us Home” is an opening interlude (prologue, if you will) that sets the stage, beautifully, with angelic singing vocals, that leads into the face crushing “Not I”; a powerful non-conformist warcry for those living a life for Christ that brutally dispels any notion that Christians will simply follow in the footsteps of the world. “Not I”. It’s a beautiful and poetic piece of metal mastery that sets the stage for arguably Demon Hunter’s greatest album ever. (Absolutely their best album in my humble opinion).

The Flame That Guides Us Home Lyrics:

Sing now seraph, find the calm within your soul
Bring us closer to the flame that guides us home

Not I Lyrics

So now you’re suffering the fallacy of what you said
When you uncover the depression from where you’ve tread
Breathe over the glass you wrote on
Swallow all that you waste your throat on

You wear the mark and wave the banner they made with sin
Revealing every single lie that you’ve been breeding within
Wash over the skin you’ve broken
Think over the tone you spoke in

So lost in your affliction
The solemn comfort of your grave
If you close your eyes the light can’t take it away

Not I – I won’t conform to what I see in you
Not I – I won’t surrender what I am
Not I – And even if it was a part of me
Not I – I’ll never be that way again

The blind will follow on the path that you created in vain
No guiding light, but just the shadow of the dead will remain
Dig open the pain you’re hiding
Give your hand to the faith you’re fighting
The void you suffer is a curse forever bleeding inside
Now you embrace the fatal sickness you should despise
Remember the day you lost that
Where is the shame that will bring your soul back?

So lost in your addiction
The solemn comfort of your grave
If you close your eyes the light can’t take it away

Not I – I won’t conform to what I see in you
Not I – I won’t surrender what I am
Not I – And even if it was a part of me
Not I – I’ll never be that way again

Reach back behind your pride
And pull the thorn from the burning pain in your side

Sing me a new song
A broken song of redemption and regret
Sing me a new song
And beg for all the mercy you can get

Not I – I won’t conform to what I see in you
Not I – I won’t surrender what I am
Not I – And even if it was a part of me
Not I – I’ll never be that way again

About Demon Hunter Month

Cities In Motion 2 Announced. Debut Gameplay Trailer (PC, Mac)

Here is the debut Cities in Motion 2 gameplay trailer video.

Cities in Motion 2 gives players full control of their own transit empire as they utilize a wide variety of transportation vehicles to create the most effective transit system possible. Offering a bus load of new features, including day and night cycles and multiplayer modes, Cities in Motion 2 also introduces dynamic cities—as transit is built, urban sprawl will expand or depreciate based on the affordability of transit and the needs of each unique city’s inhabitants. From the scheduling of timetables to the adjustment of fares, transportation enthusiasts will be able to tweak a wide variety of options to provide for the demands of their population. Metal Songs of the Day – Storm the Gates of Hell + Lead Us Home (Demon Hunter Month. Lyrics Included) From Storm the Gates Album (2007)

Storm the Gates of Hell + Lead Us Home by Demon Hunter are the first two opening songs from Demon Hunter’s phenomenal fourth full-length album, 2005’s Storm the Gates of Hell.

These are two songs that lead into each other and are meant to be played back-to-back, to get the full effect of pure and utter obliteration. The opening salvo for 2007’s Storm the Gates of Hell is a hyper-fast, endlessly punishing song that barrels ahead like a fright train and only gives you a moment to breath before plowing through to the end. It’s a powerful song meant to kick off the album in fine fashion, and does so with punishing metal punch. If Storm the Gates of Hell, the opener and title track of the album is a machine gun to the gut, then Lead Them Home is a chaingun to the face, pulverizing your brain to puddy and leaving your eyes bleeding on the street. The opening moments of Lead Us Home is among the most badass openers in Demon Hunter’s history, with one of the most brutal, punishing headbangers ever pressed to plastic. Both songs are extraordinary, and left fans with one hell of a double-team to one of the band’s greatest albums.

Storm the Gates of Hell Lyrics:

Broken teeth, a shattered jaw
Ten to one, behold my God
Wicked sons of Heaven’s loss
Raise your own inverted cross . . .
Kings of earth, iron fist
Serve the sacred you dismissed
Stand before your final day
Choke on every line you pray

Raise your glass to death
Not one second left

Wake the lifeless, die to fight this
Stand beside me, storm the gates of Hell
Wake the lifeless, die to fight this
Stand beside me, storm the gates of Hell
Storm the gates of Hell

Coward’s heart, a serpent’s tongue
Stand to face what you’ve outrun
Fear of death, fear of pain
Bound to all you took in vain
No more lies, no regrets
Sever ties and hollow debt
Open eyes, live to learn
Or watch your blessed temple burn

Raise your glass to death
Not one second left

Wake the lifeless, die to fight this
Stand beside me, storm the gates of Hell
Wake the lifeless, die to fight this
Stand beside me, storm the gates of Hell
Storm the gates of Hell!

Hell hath no fury at all . . . .
Hell hath no fury at all!

Lead Us Home Lyrics

One more day
This time I’ll bite the bullet . . .
Let me stay
And set this life ablaze

Give myself to compromise
And let the hammer fall . . .
From blackened eyes to broken ties
I’ve bled to know them all
Driven to the brink of death
I heed deceptions call
Through bitter tears, forgotten years
I’ve come to sever all

Lead us home . . .
Lead us home . . .
Our tired hearts are failing now, from the inside out
Lead us home

One more time
This day I kill the witness . . .
Take back what’s mine
And give disgrace a name!

Give myself to compromise
And let the hammer fall
From blackened eyes to broken ties
I’ve bled to know them all
Driven to the brink of death
I heed deceptions call
Through bitter tears, forgotten years
I’ve come to sever all

Lead us home . . .
Lead us home . . .
Our tired hearts are failing now, from the inside out
Lead us home

Blessed hands will tear me off
And break me at the wrist . . .
Drag me back to solid ground
Slay the fate I kiss!
OH!

Lead us home . . .
Lead us home . . .
Our tired hearts are failing now, from the inside out
Lead us home

Crytek USA Studio Formed Of Ex-Darksiders Developer Vigil Games Staff. They Find New Home After THQ Bankruptcy Auction

Darksiders 2 Death Lives Wallpaper

Vigil Games lives in Crytek USA!

Great news for ex-Vigil Games employees, Crytek (makers of Crysis) bought them and have moved the ex-Darksiders developers to Austin Texas as part of an all-new Crytek USA studio.

This is really great as it will allow those talented developers who created the outstanding Darksiders franchise to continue working and hopefully create another great American franchise for the German publisher.

This follows an auction from THQ in which they sold off a majority of their assets as part of their Chapter 11 Bankruptcy case; however for some odd reason Vigil Games and the Darksiders franchise were not scooped up.

It’s unclear whether or not Crytek also picked up the Darksiders franchise or just the developers, hopefully both.

THQ president Jason Rubin tweeted, “Great news for Vigil, at least the core team. Thanks to Crytek for saving as much as they could of a fantastic team.”
