Martin Luthor King Jr. and Barack Obama together in this amazing painting by Ben Heine via DevianArt. Two major events collided recently that are absolutely incredible: The 2nd inauguration of the first ever black President transpired on the same day as Martin Luthor King Jr. Day, a day that celebrates all MLK did for the civil rights of minorities and African Americans in America.
It was a historical moment of epic proportions whose historical impact cannot be denied by anyone. Martin Luthor King Jr. paved the way for Barack Obama’s and other blacks who aspire to the highest office in the land; and gives them hope that they can too, one day, lay claim to it. Hopefully it will be someone like Herman Cain, Condoleezza Rice, Mia Love, Allen West, Collin Powell, Tim Scott or Bobby Jindel… But I digress.
This is an absolutely gorgeous, beautiful painting. Kudos to artist Ben Heine of DeviantArt for drawing it. Check out his DeviantArt profile and give him some love!
Gears of War Judgment’s initial pressings will include a free Gears of War 1 digital copy (via download token), allowing players and fans to experience the first entry in the juggernaut Xbox 360-exclusive third-person shooter franchise!
Epic Games choose to include Xbox 360’s Gears of War 1 for free when they found out that half of Gears of War 3 players on Xbox Live had not played the first game in the series. This is an added bonus of $20 at no extra cost! And it will be included in all worldwide versions except Germany.
Along with that announcement came an all-new video for Gears of War Judgment called “The Guts of Gears”. It gives fans an “in-depth preview of the most intense and action-packed “Gears” campaign yet”. Narrated by the game’s hero and fan-favorite character Lt. Baird, the video offers a sneak peek at the wealth of exciting new campaign features, including the dynamic Smart Spawn System, new weapons, dynamic defense scenarios, Declassified Missions, new player rewards, and more.
Gears of War Judgment is the first prequel in the epic war trilogy.
Key Features of Gears of War Judgment Include:
* Set years prior to the events of the previous Gears of War trilogy, Judgment centers on Kilo Squad, a troop of soldiers led by Damon Baird and Augustus “The Cole Train” Cole.
* Gears of War: Judgment introduces brand-new multiplayer experiences, including OverRun, a thrilling new class-based competitive mode that pits Locust and COG soldiers in a head-to-head battle unlike anything “Gears” fans have experienced yet.
* Gears of War: Judgment introduces a new Smart Spawn System [S3] for both campaign and multiplayer action.
* Marking a first for the Gears franchise, Gears of War: Judgment features a “Misson Declassification” system that lets players experience more challenging gameplay scenarios and achievements by uncovering critical information during the course of the campaign.
* Playable cooperatively with up to three friends on Xbox LIVE (four players total), Gears of War: Judgment depicts the planet Sera on the brink of annihilation by an unstoppable new Locust menace, giving you a new vantage point into one of the richest and most acclaimed sagas in gaming.
Billy Graham with Martin Luthor King Jr. Before his death, Martin Luther King, Jr. developed a friendship with Billy Graham who once said, “He (King) asked me to call him just plain Mike.”
Such an awesome, beautiful photograph of two amazing men of God. I am glad that this photograph exists, proof of the bonds that develop between different individuals who share a faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Here’s an awesome video where you can hear Martin Luthor King Jr. in his own voice praying for Billy Graham! So awesome! This documentary video talks about how the two worked together and what they did. I love history.
Resident Evil: Revelations is leaving the confines of 3DS to greener pastures on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U! It will be released on May 21st 2013 in America and May 24th in Europe.
It will not only be available on retail disc But it will also be avaialble on digital download for all four platforms, although the digital WiiU and PC versions will come later.
Updates over the 3DS version will include high-definition graphcis, Achievements and Trophies to earn, enhanced lighting effects and more immersive sound, a terrifying new enemy to fight, extra difficulty modes and many improvements to Raid Mode. These include new weapons, new skill sets, Hunk as a playable character and more. Raid More sees players taking on hoards of enemies, and can be played in Single Player or Online.
“The critically acclaimed survival horror title takes players back to the events that took place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and reveals the truth about the T-Abyss virus. Resident Evil Revelations features series favourites Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, plus respective BSAA partners – Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat. The action begins on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the ‘Queen Zenobia’, where horrors lurk around every corner, before players head for the mainland and the devastated city of Terragrigia. With limited ammo and weapons available the race is on to survive the horror of Resident Evil Revelations.”
Resident Evil Revelations will take full advantage of Residentevil.net with content available to users once the game launches. Players can pre-register on the service from January 24th to gain early access to Resident Evil Revelations themed content with further information about online events to be revealed closer to launch.
This is great news. Although Resident Evil: Revelations was a great exclusive for the 3DS, the game deserves to be played by more fans and thus this re-release on additional consoles is definitely welcome. I hope to play the game on 3DS before this new version hits. I actually bought the game last holiday alongside Resident Evil 6: Archives, but I had to sell it to get some cash before I got a change to play it. Sadly.
Absolutely awe-inspiring words from someone who walked the walk and carried his cross.
“Like Anybody I Would Like To Live A Long Life. Longevity Has Its Place. But I’m Not Concerned About That Now. I Just Want To Do God’s Will. And He’s Allowed Me To Go Up To the Mountain. And I’ve Looked Over. And I’ve Seen the Promised Land.” Celebrate MLK’s inspiring Spirit of God with this amazing quote.
The pulse of Christ pumped through this man in so many powerful ways. His thinking was profound beyond human understanding. That’s because he yielded his life to the guide of the Holy Spirit, allowing God to speak through him and change the world. This quote gives me shivers.
If you’ve ever seen the last speech that MLK ever gave, the Holy Spirit was literally dripping off this man. According to interviews with a guy who was with MLK the day he was assassinated, he told people that MLK was the giddiest he had ever seen him. In fact he said Martin Luthor King was actually playful. So playful in fact that he started a pillow fight! This was completely unlike MLK, who was usually stoic and serious. He said this was manifest evidence to him that MLK was divinely inspired and knew that it was his last day on Earth. And even in the midst of that impending doom, he had the joy of Christ. A joy only the peace of God brings. This is from first-hand accounts. You can believe whatever you want to believe, but its clear to people who were there that God flowed through Martin Luthor King Jr. in powerful, powerful ways.
My Heartstrings Come Undone is arguably Demon Hunter’s most popular and famous song. For good reason, many consider it to be the band’s best ballad and perhaps the greatest song Demon Hunter has ever composed. For my money, My Heartstrings Come Undone is among my least favorite Demon Hunter ballads, and far and away from my list of best songs from the band. Regardless, many others feel different, and My Heartstrings Come Undone is a beautiful song that remains among the biggest highlights of their sophomore album, Summer of Darkness, back when the band only did one ballad per album. I love the lyrics on this album, they really are beautiful, and the way the song is sung is fantastic. I love the repeating of “already chase / don’t want to face”.
Lyrics:
It’s buried deep within the past and I
Hope it doesn’t last
(It’s something I already chase, I already chase)
I try to give it all away, but it’s never going to fade
(It’s something I don’t want to face, I don’t want to face)
I know you feel it’s all the same
But I promise that I’ll change
(It’s something I already chase, I already chase)
You know I’m trying to believe
That you’re never going to leave
(It’s something I don’t want to face, I don’t want to face)
There’s nothing left
The fear is gone
[Chorus]
And when my heartstrings come undone
I will wait for you, pray for you
Before I make my final run
I will stay with you, decay with you
I know I’m not the perfect one
And this pain has just begun
(It’s something I already chase, I already chase)
You bring me to a better path
And it’s everything I lack
(It’s something I don’t want to face, I don’t want to face)
[Chorus]
If you fade out without me
Will you know all about me?
If you fade out without me
Will you know all?
[Chorus]

Even better than the original version, in my humble opinion, is the acoustic version of My Heartstrings Come Undone, released as part of the Deluxe Edition of Demon Hunter’s The Triptych. Absolutely epic.
* Note: I CANNOT FIND the acoustic version of this song on youtube. :/ I will have to upload it myself. For now. Enjoy the equally amazing acoustic LIVE version of this song with lead singer Ryan Clark (on right) and guitarist Patrick Judge (on left, who joined the band in 2010 with The World Is A Thorn).
About Demon Hunter Month
January 2013 is dedicated to the Christian metal band Demon Hunter, arguably my favorite band; and will feature songs from their entire catalog featured daily throughout the month, one a day. Whether you like metal, believe in God or not, check these songs out as you may be pleasantly surprised and hopefully you will discover some new-to-your-ears music to enjoy. Demon Hunter’s sound is extremely diverse, not all songs feature screams and growls, some are slow, sung ballads; others are heartfelt, all are deep with powerful lyrics that will make you think and ponder, as the sound takes you away.
This artwork is so insanely awesome, I absolutely love it. It makes me wanna play The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker right now! :D I already set it as my Facebook Timeline Cover Photo, will you? ^_^
RIP to Martin Luthor King Jr. and Happy MLK Day 2013 to everyone! Use this day to remember MLK and all he has done through the power of Christ that changed the world. One man and his faith rocked a nation, and effected change that world forever reverberate.
MLK never lost his faith in Jesus Christ to change souls, and neither should you! Remember this great man and use it to inspire you!
…. An absolutely awesome photo of President Obama entering massive crowds for his 2nd inauguration speech.
Obama full video of the President’s 2nd inauguration speech on January 21st 2013 is posted below. This is the full speech of President Obama who was sworn in today, on Martin Luthor King Day, to the start of his second full term in office as the 44th President of the United States and the first ever black President to serve two full terms in office!
No matter what you think of President Obama and his policies, this is a historic moment of epic proportions, especially for African Americans and mixed race kids, as well as minorities in general. The fact that President Obama’s inauguration came on Martin Luthor King Day was truly icing on the cake. As soon as I can find it I will post the full video of all the day’s events, and another video to replace the stupid New York Times who seem to have the monopoly on youtube political events for some unknown reason.
Obama taking the oath of office using Martin Luthor King and Lincoln’s Bibles!
Thorns is one of two main, core ballads off of Demon Hunter’s fourth full-length album, the phenomenal Storm the Gates of Hell (alongside the song “Carry Me Down”), and is most likely the track from which the band’s proceeding album, “The World Is A Thorn”, took it’s name. The inspirational Thorns is a rather direct reference to the Crown of Thorns placed upon the head of Christ during his crucifixion, while serving as an amazing metaphor for the difficulties and troubles that life brings and the redemption that God delivers in flesh and blood. This song is a worship song pure and simple. It features only singing vocals throughout, and is absolutely amazing.
Lyrics:
Bitter thoughts became your every waking breath
Save the nights your hollow dreams revealed
The sweet release of death
In your thoughts you played a symphony of self
But your soul had bled a darker song of close to nothing left
Ohhhhh
The deliverance of blade and flame
Your love
And greater is the Blood
You’ll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born
In the emptiness of broken flesh
At the mercy of the thorns
You’ll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born
In the emptiness of broken flesh
At the mercy of the thorns
Every line a path into an empty heart
Where the words of now forgotten Love
Fall silent in the dark
Ohhhhh
The deliverance of blade and flame
Your love
And greater is the Blood
You’ll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born
In the emptiness of broken flesh
At the mercy of the thorns
You’ll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born
In the emptiness of broken flesh
At the mercy of the thorns
Sister
Don’t you sleep
Through your own eulogy
Don’t sever…
What you are
For what you couldn’t be…
You’ll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born
In the emptiness of broken flesh
At the mercy of the thorns
You’ll find it in the veil of night where solitude is born
In the emptiness of broken flesh
At the mercy of the thorns
